After years (yes, years) of shoes piled in every corner and filling up all the space under my bed, I found the right shoe rack for the space and, after purging about 5 ugly pair of shoes, they are finally organized in a way I can manage. I ended up moving my handbags into a linen closet in the hall (it's right outside my bedroom so it's convenient) BUT they're all in one place neatly lined up on shelves.&nbsp;</p> <p>I feel like a weight has been lifted. I also feel like I got a bunch of new shoes and handbags. The footboard of our bed (it is a tall, old-fashioned wooden sort of thing -- actually it is made from pieces of stair railing) always ends up becoming both a drying rack and storage for the clothes I've worn the past several days.</p> <p>If I can't find an item there or where it's supposed to be, it's usually in "the other dresser," which is how we refer to the dryer.
