Thanks, Annabelle! I like the ones you got--great pick. I'll probably stick with the NYDJ; they pretty much fit the bill for me.

I think you look great in an ivory jean, Sharan! Have you considered a boyfriend cut ankle length that you could cuff as desired? It might give you more versatility! I just spent over $1000 on jeans at yoox (!?) while looking for the perfect off-white jean. (I didn't keep all those!) I ended up with the Ralph Lauren appended, and I like the substantial quality of the fabric.

Have fun in your search!

Thanks, Denise. Good point. If I'm going for high rise, better for it to be geniunely high.

Angie, thanks so much for weighing back in. Your outfit post today reminded me that I really liked the grayish seafoam color in these jeans, too. (I think they call it moonbeam or something like that. I don't see it online.)

Lisa, you're welcome!

AM, no worries. The wrinkling gave me pause, too. I bet it will be almost unnoticeable except when I'm standing still.

I think I'll keep the size 2. And I may want to wear them soon.

Very interesting article. Thanks! I guess I have either chosen really baggy (boyfriend) cuts in white. Or used a skinny white almost as a legging and covered my crotch and my rear. But I also have a VERY limited experience with light jeans.

Nah. They will loosen up on the thigh. These are jeans - not trousers. Whiskering is fine on a tighter cut. PLUS, the shadows in the photos are making the whiskers look more pronounced than they actually are - look at the photo online.

Angie, I could probably still roll them a little at that shorter length.

Diane, Debora, and Style Fan, thanks. I do like this color.

Staysfit, I agree that there is little visible difference in the photos. So odd, because I felt in the store that there was a distinct difference. And yet, now I can't pinpoint it.

Lisa and AM, I wondered about the wrinkles at the crotch, too. They seem to be less pronounced on the 2s, in real life. Angie has provided guidelines on the issue here. I suspect that the problem with these jeans may be more related to the stretchy fabric than to fit, but I really don't know. If I keep them, I'll go with the 2. I am pretty sure now that the 4P would ride down and provide even more wrinkling across the crotch.

Crotch wrinkling is always more visible on light pants. I prefer the 2, the rise is higher, the P4's don't look like real high rise pants. No opinion on the length, all lengths you are showing look good to me so it's a matter of preference.

I like the size 2s. I have heard NYDJ stretch and to buy a size or 2 smaller. If that is true then I would seriously consider the size 2s.

I'm always the oddball. I'm trying to learn from this - as I prefer the 4. I am not crazy about the whiskering /pulling effect at the crotch, and that seems less so with the larger size. But what do I know? I have trouble assessing the look of light coloured pants - and again want to figure this out.

Thanks, Angie! I forgot to add the Find--yes, that's them. If I get the 2, do you think I should shorten them? (To the length of the first pair, or perhaps the slightly shorter length I've shown in 5-6?) Or just leave them long and roll them sometimes.
Yes, I'm happy to know you're still wearing your white boyfriend jeans!

Good bottoms for Seattle. They look great. Fab with ankle straps and high shaft ankle booties - or rolled at the hems.

They do feel different, Viva. The 4P is slightly shorter in the rise and larger in the waist. It feels immediately very good, but when I walk, it starts to feel like it's slipping down, like I'd need a belt. The 2 is a higher rise and stays in place better when I walk. I have to admit the 2 feels better, though I preferred the look of the 4P in the store, and I'm not sure why.

I've had an eye out for stone-colored jeans. These are more like sand color, but I do like the color. (What I'm after is a white alternative.) I also like the idea of a slim cut, rather than a boyfriend or bootcut, and I like an ankle length, which I can always tuck into boots if I want a cold-weather option. These are high-waisted, which I usually am not keen on, but since the high waist is coming back, I thought they might look more current now than they have looked to me in recent years.

I brought home two sizes, because I couldn't decide between the two. I'm unsure whether to keep one of them or keep looking.

1-2: Size 4P.
3-4: Size 2.
5-6: Size 2, with hems turned under.

I'd appreciate any feedback you have on the fit or look of these for me. Thanks!
