dont laugh at this but

I was reading on another board about a lady who had a package to go back to a vendor. she was waiting for the UPS guy to come to her house with the label for the box.
guy shows up wanting the box but no label, she didn't give him the box and told him it wasn't ready.,
take away: driver knew box was going back and wanted the package for his own purposes, similiar to what La Belle Demimondaine just posted
insided scam at UPS??

We like to think Mr. Brown Pants is honest but they can scan the package is delivered at our house but they could take it somewhere else. (unless there is GPS on the trucks)

How frustrating! One December a few years ago, FedEx said it delivered a package at a time I was home -- but they hadn't. It was raining that evening and I have a lot of steps. I think the holiday driver got lazy and/or stole the merchandise. The item was a good price and the last one. I got my money back but had to spend a lot more to get the same thing from another vendor. From that experience, I've learned to track deliveries pretty closely. :(

It sounds like Shoescribe might give me a refund - I emailed their customer service. I need to call UPS and try to track things down. I hadn't realized stores were so good about refunds for missing packages! A few friends have said they got full refunds in similar circumstances. I assumed I was out of luck on that front.

With a night's sleep I'm much less sad about this.

I'd contact Shoescribe. Most UPS packages are insured, but I believe the seller has to make the claim.

I've never had a package completely disappear (but my packages get left in a vestibule area and not out in the open), although, like Thistle, I've had ones that claim to have been delivered then show up several days later. I've also had one envelope that arrived completely empty - the flap was open, not cut or torn or anything - but I sent a photo of the empty package to the shop and they sent me a replacement without much hassle.

ETA: Is there another address nearby (in the same zip code) that looks similar to yours? My packages used to always get delivered to 10 ___street #6 instead of 6 ___street#10. Luckily it was in the same complex so people from that building would bring them over for me, and once I figured it out, I would go over there to check. There was also someone with the same first initial/last name combo as me who lived a few blocks away - in that case, I actually knew her, so she'd let me know if she got my mail.

I would say.... contact Shoescribe, contact UPS - but don't contact the eBay seller just yet - because if you or SS or UPS are able to track it to the point where there needs to be a police report, you have already tipped your hand to this eBay seller - and whoever he/she is working with - because that's a bit of a haul, to come from the next town over to take one pair of shoes. If these are indeed your shoes, then this probably isn't an isolated incident of one stolen package. There may be an inside-thing going on with someone who works for UPS.

I had this happen to me with a package from Nordstrom with a Movodo watch in it. Ups showed they diveree it, but no package.

I called UPS, but they could do nothing for me as I didn't ship the package.

I called Nordstrom's, and they shipped me a new watch while they dealt with UPS.

Three days later, UPS delivered the package. And no,I didn't just happen to find it. I saw them bring it to the door as I happened to be home with DD that day. The package was mangled, but the watch inside was fine and the box the watch was in never opened. I just sent it back to Nordstrom's with an explanation of what had happened.

So I ordered the LD Tuttle Remove sandal booties - the same ones Anna has but in grey - from Shoescribe. They were on super sale. UPS said they delivered the package Monday but the box was nowhere to be seen.

I've never had a package stolen before, but that's what must have happened. I'll call UPS tomorrow to make sure there's not some other explanation. They didn't take the signed delivery slip (their first attempt was Friday, and I left the slip there Monday) so it's possible they didn't actually deliver them.

And to add to the plot... the exact same boots, new in box, from Shoescribe, just appeared on Ebay Tuesday. From a seller with no feedback who's one town south of me. I can't help but think those might be the boots stolen from my steps.

I'm sure there are practical steps I can take - maybe I can talk to ebay? Or shoescribe to see if they delivered the same boots to that town recently? And maybe I can find a way to have future packages delivered somewhere else, like work. But mostly I'm just really sad and upset at losing $200. Plus, I was considering wearing them as a bridesmaid this weekend.

A happy update: Shoescribe gave me a full refund after investigating it with UPS! I wish I'd known that was standard procedure - I'd have saved myself a bit of stress and worry. The suspicious shoes are still on Ebay but I don't think I'll bid on them!
