The grass (or gravel today) is always greener isn't it? :)

EDIT: I hate to have to wear the Birks so often, but after a run last night I felt my arch swelling on the injured foot so I'd rather be less fashionable now and be able to wear heels for years to come :/

I think my Birkenstocks are very similar to yours. I guess I won't tell you we've been in the upper 50's and I'm already busting out my wool scarfs.

Yep - I tried to be marginally stylish for my walk but came home a sweaty disheveled mess anyway! And my sandals are full of grit from having to walk where there are no sidewalks. I feel DIRTY lol. Luckily you can't quite see the sweat patches on my top in the pics ugh.
Pic 1 leaving the house looking fine
Pic 2 just in the door all mussed up lol
Pic 3 after thought - maybe belting lower and untucked might be better

I feel the same abut non-cooperation of the weather. It's been unseasonably warm and I'm afraid some trends I'd like to try will be old looking before it ever cools off enough to try them. The boots are still stored away while sandals come out to play a while longer.

I hear ya! We had a taste of fall, and now we're back to summer. I was noticing yesterday how I gravitate towards more fall like colors even though it feels like summer. I had on a brown/taupe/fuscia floral top, and I layered a black tank under it and my taupe lace vest over it and paired it with really dark denim clams. I would not have made that pairing in July. In summer I was wearing it with purple white or brown and light wash denim.

It was heat index of 90 already as I was eating breakfast this morning . . . and I want to walk the mile round trip to the corner store. I told myself I was going to wear all my fab fall outfits that are languishing but the weather just won't allow it. Ditto for some of my cool new shoes. The recuperating ankle still appreciates Birkenstocks for walks over a mile. Sigh. Guess I just wanted to complain lol!
I do want to try and wear all my new stuff even if it's just to sit in the house with the cat. I did that last week with pattern mixing my stripe scarf and animall print top. A few days later the BF surprised me by taking a day off for an overnight out of town trip for our anniversary. I had a fall back outfit all ready because of playing around at home earlier that week!
I guess I'll just have to save dress up for the cat in the house, while I continue to battle the elements with my summer wear. I wonder how many times the BF will comment on me wearing full outfits at home? Hopefully I'll end up with a few more fast fall back outfits!
