Hmmm, thanks, Angie. Now I'm back to returning this and continuing the search.

Do you have any suggestions? I considered the Halogen jacket from NAS but rejected it because I don't want black. Also, the leather wasn't anywhere near as soft as this one, but then again, it was a lot cheaper.

Love how you have it styled -- the furry vest is simply brilliant. I can see what you mean about the sleeve length, and truth is, that would bug me too. It is most noticeable when you wear the pink coat over it. I would find out how much it would cost to have them shortened. Then it will be perfect. Just be sure the tailor doesn't shorten them too much, because that's just as annoying. Maybe have them shortened to exact same length as pink coat?

I love the leather jacket with the scarves and furry vest. I don't think it's as flattering when your neck is bare. Your body type (long neck, short hair and regular shoulder line) tends to look best in items with collars (adds structure to the neck). The scarf and vest add neck structure to the jacket. And there is the issue of the sleeve length.

I hope that makes sense.

That said, the colour of the jacket is sensational on you.

I looked through the pics before reading your post and thought, what's there to think about? It looks like an amazing jacket on you.... and so versatile!
I didn't notice the sleeves until you pointed it out... but honestly they don't look more than just a "titch" too long. And when you're in movement, they aren't going to hang that long.
I vote keep!

LOVE. It looks good with pants and skirts and totally goes with your style -what's not to love?! I'd say it's a total keeper!

ETA - I like the sleeves at their present length (that's my personal preference for longer sleeves).

All right, I will keep! Ceit, I hope you're right about the sleeves, that would be great - and makes me think I should wait on shortening them even if I'm going to do it.

I went to meet a friend for a drink last night and seriously considered wearing this jacket. Then I decided that was ridiculous, since at 10 it was still 72 (22).

It is a bit boxy, but still seems to work.

I don't mind shorter sleeves, 3/4 length even, but too long of sleeves drive me crazy. Most of my wardrobe is formwork, and as I drive a desk, too long of sleeves rub and drive me insane. It's the same reason I don't wear bracelets or watches. Sleeve preference really is personal, though.

However, if you are really uncertain, I say return it. Better to be sure you love it than settle for such a significant wardrobe piece.

Wow - it looks fantastic as you have styled it. sleeve length does seem to be a bit personal. I tend to prefer shorter for indoor wear. But others don't mind longer.

Amazing how it seems to work with everything! It's a beautiful neutral for you and very sophisticated.

Keep! You styled it in clever ways (layering, like Clara mentioned). It seems to fit your style preference - clean lines, age appropriate, modern but not "trendy" - it looks like a classic piece you can wear forever. It really "pops" on you. As far as the sleeves, I understand your hesitatition (I'm very sensitive to sleeve length), but all your outfits "work" and look fantastic!!

I think you will find in wearing that the elbow will kind of contour and remember the bend, and keep a little scrunch, shortening the sleeve slightly. The sleeves look nice zipped too, makes your wrists look very dainty.

It is a beautiful jacket and seems to layer well (which I never would have thought for a leather jacket). This means you will probably get 3 seasons out of it (fall, winter, and spring when it is still chilly) or even 4 if you live in SF or Seattle. The fit is boxy but flattering, I think, maybe because of its length.

If the sleeve length annoys you, see a tailor before you make a final decision. I think it's just great.

I think it is a keeper. I can't handle sleeves that feel a touch too short but don't mind them being a bit long. That is personal preference though. It seems to work beautifully with your existing wardrobe and the fit and color are also very nice.

I think it's super cute. It all depends on how much the length of the sleeves bothers you. I am perhaps not as strict about sleeve length as I should be, but the length I see on you is not a deal-breaker, in my mind. Can a leather jacket be altered? It might be worth it, if you're really bothered.

I tried it with a bunch of my favorite/most worn winter clothes. (Although I was too lazy to change tights when I put on the brown boots.) Thoughts? I am still unsure whether the sleeves are too long or not.

I have (and like) pretty simple, classic clothes in neutrals and some bright colors (mostly red, orange, or pink). My goal is to add pieces that (a) go with what I already have, (b) push me in a more modern direction, and (c) make me happy, while (d) remaining adult/sophisticated/age appropriate.
