I agree with Aida and Adelfa. I think your body is telling you that there is something wrong with these shoes. Can you exchange them for another pair of the same thing? Maybe there was a manufacturing error. At least then you will know you did what you could.

I don't know that even a cobbler could help it. I once took a pair of stilettos to a cobbler because they were wobbly. I didn't want to buy them unless he would be able to reduce the wobbling. He said he couldn't. So back they went.

Unfortunately, I don't think high heels in general are made very well these days. High heels should not be wobbly when sitting by themselves on a flat surface. The heel and the sole under the front of the foot should be both flush with the surface and not be rocking around. I have found that of all the heels I have tried on, none of them meet this criterion except for a few pairs of heeled boots. I sometimes decide to return a shoe based on how wobbly it is. I put a new pair on top of my dresser and gently push at it to try to tip it over and see how it responds. If there's lots of rocking, I send it back.

Stilettos that are unstable can actually be pretty dangerous. You could fall or twist your ankle. So if you exchange and the new pair does the same thing, I would recommend returning it.

I agree. A well constructed shoe that is right for your foot should not feel unstable from the get go. Your feet are telling you something! After a couple of bad ankle sprains (which occurred while wearing flats) I refuse to wear any shoe that feels unstable. And it's my feet that tell me--once I had to pass on a new pair of Dansko clogs because I kept turning my ankle in them! It's hard to find a shoe that fits the wardrobe so it's very disappointing but it's just not worth it. Good luck!!!

I wear stiletto heels and refuse to wear any that feel unstable. The higher and thinner the heel the less stable, so that could be the issue but it could also be that the shoe is just unstable. If you are used to walking in this type of heel and it feels unstable to you, then they're probably not a good idea to keep. I'm not sure what makes them feel this way from a construction standpoint so unfortunately I can't give you specific advice on what to look for.

If you can't wear them, then I would clear them out. But I am the least likely person for stiletto advice. Just feel that you gotta be able to walk! Picture?

I need advice from stiletto-wearing ladies. I recently purchased a fab pair of Valentino stilettos via ebay. I wear heels only on occasion and these are probably higher than my other heels. In theory they should be the nicest shoes I own, but I am surprised by how unstable they feel. Is this normal of higher stilettos and something I can address with foot petals or is an unstable shoe hopeless? I should mention that other than the stability these shoes are exactly what I need in my wardrobe.
