Thanks, Cathy! I think I'll test both the Smudgestick and the UD. I'm getting to the bottom of my Fluidline pot and am finding it hard to apply. I usually go through them pretty quickly without problem but this one seems to be drying out faster. I'm game to try something new. I think the smoky eye trend has been around long enough for this late adopter to give it a try

Yes I do use the smudge sticks and love them! I can get a really fine line with them, or smudge them before they set for a more smoky look. Love the range of colors too. They are a bit resistant to my Neutrogena foaming cleanser/makeup remover, but I put a bit of moisturizer on a towel and wipe it off easily that way.

I also use the smudge pots. Those are fun for doing a winged eye. My only problem is that the top layer dries up fairly quickly, and the pot is large so it is hard to use up all the product in a reasonable amount of time. I do wipe off any hard layer before using, but then feel like I am wasting product! On the other hand, it is a large container...

I also have the Stila waterproof liquid eye liner, but that one stings my eyes a bit and smears really easily. On me, anyhow -- sounds like pastrygirl has a different experience.

I'm thinking that it depends on your skin type as to how well they work for you. Good luck!

ETA: I also like the UD pencils but find I get a crisper line with the smudge stick.

Thanks, Parsley. I know there is a UD counter at Macy's--where I'm going with DD's today. Will definitely check it out.

Another really great eyeliner pencil that's easy to put on and will stay put all day is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On pencils. They come in a TON of gorgeous colors. Not cheap, but they're fabulous.

I use the smudge stick waterproof--the pencils, not the pots. I love it. It does go on soft and smudgeable, but as soon as it sets, it sets. It doesn't budge at all on me. It comes off, though, with normal face cleaner.

Thanks. I was just going to order one but now I will take a look at those sticks at the store--they may be too smudgy for me too. I'm used to a clean line from the Fluidline. Good to know about the makeup remover. Sounds affordable too

I've tried the Smudge Sticks and find them too...smudgy, LOL. I like a finer line, so I use the Stila stay all day liquid liner, which I think is waterproof. I use my usual makeup remover for everything, including the smudge sticks, and it gets EVERYTHING off. It's the Sonia Kashuk liquid from Target. I haven't met a makeup item that it couldn't remove.

Two questions in two days! I've used MAC Fluidline for the last decade. I've read that some of you like the Stila Smudgesticks and pot eyeliners. Are you talking about the waterproof ones? Do you have to use a special remover to get them off? (The only color I like in MAC is black and noticed that Stila offered more colors.)

TIA!
