Theresa,

I like that ezibuy jacket too but have the same reservations about it.

My shopping list is mainly for big ticket items that I am hoping will last at least 5 years.
- black cardi
- wool coat
- heels
- a casual jacket (not denim or pleather, and probably not black). Maybe a knit.

I have also bought some red corduroy to make a gored skirt from my authentic 70's pattern!

I may buy one jumper (sweater) if the budget allows. And I am rather attracted to a sweatshirt material dress.

Good list T. I saw that denim jacket in the Ezibuy catalogue too. Looks cute - could see it on you!

I was also looking at the MaxShop website and they have some really cute things. I'll post some links later.

GREAT lists ladies!!!

I haven't had a good chance to think much about this yet, and my list was just:
*Ponte knit dress/tunic/sheath to wear over leggings/ponte pants with boots or ballet flats
*More cute ballet flats (I am REALLY wanting the perfect pair of leopard print flats for some reason LOL).
*Cashmere cardi - when I get rich LOL

BUT this morning the latest ezibuy catalogue came out and there is a heap of stuff in it that is inspiring me. I won't buy from them as their stuff never fits me, but I'm getting lots of ideas. AND, I finally got to go through all the emails from my favourite stores that were sitting here waiting to be read :)

So my list now is looking a little like:
*ponte dress
*cute ballet flats
* infinity scarf/ves
*casual jacket - maybe 3/4 sleeve, cotton drill perhaps
*check l/s shirt
*wide leg jeans (I'll make these, so if they aren't a lasting trend it wont matter so much!)

And, I have a real affection for this denim jacket...
http://www.ezibuy.com.au/europ.....-74167.htm
And this blazer...
http://www.ezibuy.com.au/europ.....-70697.htm
But I can't see this really being utilised much in my lifestyle and short winter :(

Now all I need to do is go back through my other thread, look at all my options and make some decisions LOL Not that I'm going to be needing warmer clothes for a good 2+ months!

I have a pair of tan boots on my list. I am planning to wear them with black ponte pants.
After vowing and declaring that I was giving up on jeans, I got inspired by Angie's 70's style and bought a pair of Jag dark wash high waisted bootcut jeans and have found myself wearing them at least once a week and loving them!
I would like a leather jacket, but I have yet to find a style that I feel comfortable with
I'm also a little bit in love with these shoes. http://www.wittner.com.au/just.....ather.html

I'm going to try on both flares and wide-legs, and get a pair in whichever style is more flattering. I suspect though that by the time flares are hemmed to fit my short legs, they'll look more like bootcuts!

I'd love a sleeveless navy & white polka dot blouse. I will probably not be able to resist any stripes I see, since I've never been able to resist them before. But I might try out the camel/black stripey thing I've been seeing lately.

Boots for tucking skinnies into would be great.

And I'm still on the hunt for a black or dark grey leather jacket in a fairly cheeky style.

Mind you, I'm sitting here in shorts and a singlet in front of a fan because it's so damn hot and humid, so it's going to be tough to make myself get out to the shops before all the good winter stuff is gone.

I would like to get to the point where I am just updating a few pieces each season but unfortunately I'm not there yet. In the last couple of years I have transitioned from a full time working workrobe to a full time Mum wardrobe. I'm still struggling to have the right proportion of casual v's more dressy clothes - I tend to gravitate toward more dressy clothes but they just don't suit my lifestyle.

So, this season I have set a budget for Jan - June and it sounds very generous but it's amazing how quickly a few items eat into it.

What I've bought so far:

Black leather jacket (Ezibuy)
Black military jacket (Ezibuy)
Swimmers (I have swimming with the little ones year round)
Birk slides (summer slippers)
Denim vest (Target)
Black cowl neck / ruched sleeve jumper (Espirit)

Want list (this is a wish list and there is no way I will get close to getting all this in my budget but I can dream right?!). I've put a star next to my priorities:

*Black ponte knit skirt (I have the Halogen seamed skirt in my shopping cart)
Black A-line knee length skirt
Charcoal maxi skirt

Sheath dress (ponte?)
Sweater dress / tunic

Oxford blue shirt
Black patterned PB blouse

*Layering long sleeved T's

Cognac pleather jacket (???)

Black low heeled casual booties
*Heeled oxfords (grey?)
Cognac slouch boots (dreaming of Frye Rory's but I don't think that's going to happen)

*Purple BF cardi
*V-neck / wrap jumper in a color

Bootcut jeans
Black leans

Loopy scarf

Like I said, dream, dream!!

Theresa posted a good thread recently on winter workhorses, I've been giving it a lot of thought. If I were heading into an Aussie winter I'd try for a mid-thigh trench or jacket in a suitable weight (cotton for Cairns, wool for Melbourne), a pair of nice boots that I could tuck skinnies into or wear under bootcuts, and some scarves in a flattering colour (whatever that is for you) in a fabric to suit the climate. And if budget allowed, I'd get a new 'winter' handbag and update my cardies. Have fun with it!

eta - maybe a vest, but I would stay away from fur - the consignment store near me started displaying them a few weeks into winter and now has LOTS - I think they're quite tricky to get right?

I will shopping from my closet I think.
I love the look of the pants at Sussans :)
I love the look of a cropped leather jacket... but seems a little impractical for winter if you ask me. Cold back, wanting it closed, loosing effect. Just saying.

I want a nice trench.

I live in FNQ so a waterproof one would be good for summer but a nice one for winter is what I'm after at the moment.

ETA - And a nice sheath dress. Having issues finding one that suits all my curves.

Kirstie I am in 2 minds about the wide legs as well. I have this inspiration pic saved and this is the kind of look I like - not too wide. I think if I get something too wide it will make me look like an oompa loompa, you could probably get away with it more with your height.

I dont think I'll be doing the tucking into jeans thing, freaks out my middle section too much.

Witchery and Sussan both have some really nice stuff, might have to have a look there. This is one I spotted on Sussan website, would be nice and versatile I think.

Oh goodness, I'm going to have to come back and add to this list!

I do know for certain that I'm *really* wanting to buy either a pair of wide leg or flare leg jeans (what do you think would be more flattering?) and a couple of 3/4 length or long sleeved blouses to tuck into said jeans.

Possibly a new belt and a couple of necklaces to go as well.

In terms of colours..... I have a great black jacket which I hardly wore last year (yes I am feeling guilty!) and I have a feeling that this style would really work with the jacket. Tying in with this notion (of jeans, blouse, jacket), would you go for a mid wash jean (as seems to be popular) or go for a darker wash?

Sorry to ask questions rather than answers, but it would be great to be clear in my mind what I'm really looking for here!

PS: Let me know if you find a really nice cream, lace blouse - I love the idea of that with the jeans and a belt. mmmmmmm, delicious!
