Joy, my Jiffy steamer has never leaked. I usually do one or two items at a time.

Fashintern, the Jiffy floor model is just so much more powerful than the travel size. You're right about creasing-never happens. (I'm terrible at ironing and usually iron creases in.) It doesn't take long for the water to heat up on my model at all-the commercial models do take much longer. I rarely fill up the reservoir...water last forever. I usually just steam what I'm getting ready to wear.

What i like about the larger steamer is that for me, its actually easier to use because the water is separated from the piece that you use to actually steam. That means that your less likely to have water spill or spit, its actually lighter and more agile. If i have a quick job and I’m in a hurry, I don’t feel the tank all the way so that it heats up faster. Since its on wheels, its super easy to move around, and I don’t find it takes up much space at all.

I’ve heard this advice before. What is it about the big ones that make them so much better than hand-helds? I like the idea of a steamer, not having to worry about an ironing board and the tool being unlikely to crease the fabric, but don’t have much storage space. I would want to get the smallest model that has whatever features make the big ones so good. I highly doubt that I would ever have a big stack of clothes to do, so I think I’d prefer not to take the time for a big reservoir of water to heat up (unless there is a reason that’s better).

I have a floor model steamer like this, though it’s not a Jiffy. Mine is a workhorse. I’ve had it for years and it’s still going strong.

I store mine in a stand-up shower. The pole unscrews into segments, and the hose/head can detach from the base. So, you COULD break it down smaller to store it. But I am too lazy to put it all back together every time I want to use it.

Janet it's not huge, but big. At my old house, admittedly it was out in my bedroom in a corner. In my current house, I store it in the walk in closet and pull it out into the bathroom to use. (No plug in the closet .)

I weighed in on Angie's blog post pretty late this morning and I am so passionate about being on Team Steamer, I wanted to give a shout out here.

If you hate steaming and don't think they work because you've had the small travel kind, please know the size is KEY. The stand up kind that really pump out steam work. I own a Jiffy Steamer and have had it since 2005...can't remember the last time I ironed!

True, it's not going to give you a crisp crease like an iron, but for everything else, it's gold. I've found the steamer works better on linen than an iron!

Jiffy Steamer is the best brand. I own the J-2000. I(t’s the brand stores use too) The J-2000 is a home version that doesn’t hold as much water as the commercial ones and takes seconds to heat up.It's great for freshening up items after I've worn them; softening up jeans that I've hung to dry and I've also found that if I have a small spot on something, the steam often helps lift it.

I know I sound like I work for Jiffy Steamer, but I don't...just love some steam, lol! You can get one here, https://jiffysteamer.com, but I'm pretty sure you can find them on Amazon for less.

Anyone joining team steam?
