This is similar, in a way, to Brooklyn’s moods as well. I can see that there will be some crossover, so am not sure how helpful it will be in setting up a physical closet, but certainly is useful for any list or chart you make.

Relating back to recent conversations: the Farah Fawcett skateboard pix are iconic, and of course I remember her from when I was in grade school. But once again, i didn’t catch that she was “sexy” anymore than I realized that I was “supposed” to reach for that someday.

Thanks Runcarla I did look at Twiggy mainly for the hair- I was never as thin as her, maybe closer to Jean Shrimpton’s size in my 20s. And I did have long curly hair from ages 17-26 more like Farrah, though brunette not blonde.
Thanks bj1111 I will look at Jamie Lee’s more recent crop styles again. I keep fiddling with the pixie and never totally happy. I thought she looked a lot older in recent pics, something different about her face? We all age of course, I have never done Botox which she is on record for doing a lot of in her younger days. I relate to how she let her hair grey in Hollywood when many of them do not.

You’ve picked some iconic women. I can see you in Jamie Lee’s current crop style with a side part and longer fringe.

Is this a direction you see yourself going?

Boy, this is brilliant. I can see the throughline of your hairstyle.

(I keep admiring people who look nothing like me - like Anna Magnani

:D )

I've been playing with a similar idea of personas as I work through my summer clothes and try to plan for fall. Asking myself the question, "would X wear this?" has been helpful when editing and adding things.

I definitely see cohesion in the personas you have above (with the exception of Farrah) and can see those in your WIWs. I hope you keep working on that and will keep us posted on how it's going!

I would add Twiggy. Not only for the cropped hair, but for the 60's mod aesthetic of clothing and accessories (earings).

I've been thinking a lot about my wardrobe as I keep on editing it slowly- which I am doing well on, that would be a separate post. I would love my numbers to make sense- I am trying to reduce them a bit overall, and only have things that ( mostly) I will wear a lot, except for the odd special occasion item which can sit there ready for if such an occasion comes up. I loved Jenava's post

https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....e-strategy
and have been considering doing something similar. Because I like a lot of different eras I thought I might try to pick some style icons from the eras I love, to see if I can use them to represent the categories. I already used the first one previously to work out how to style my hair as a "Eton crop" when dressing up 1920s. Apart from the 1970s ones I think they have cohesion too.
I've also looked up some of Vix's old posts about her 3 style personas. I think for me, having a person in mind may help. Next I need to see how much of each persona I should have for my real life.
Pics 1-4 Leatrice Joy, 1920s silent movie star.
Pic 5 Jean Shrimpton, 1960s
Pics 6-7 Farrah Fawcett, carefree 1970s
Pics 8-9 Annie Lennox 1980s
Pic 10 Jamie Lee Curtis, my current style muse ( she is only a couple of years older than I am and I used her as inspo for my haircut for a long time).
PS born in 1961. What do you think?
