I did go back and look at some of your old blog posts to check out your short hair, which I thought looked great. I especially like the late 2012, early 2013 length/style. I'm with Beth Ann, in that I like to go as short as possible while still being able to put it in a ponytail. (I think it's time for me to schedule a haircut!)

Re: bras... I tried some more on at TJ Maxx today (Maidenform, Bali...) and the sizing did feel similar, so I opted to get another 36B ($9.99, woooo). Back fat usually isn't an issue for me, so perhaps I measured myself wrong yesterday!

I'm looking forward to seeing any updates with your hair!

Go Lyn! Revisiting the most important things is always time well spent!

It would be possible to keep your hair in the longest bob possible --- just grazing the shoulders, and still put it up when needed. Also, I could see a rich, sophisticated barette gathering your hair at the nape of your neck. This is an essential step for me now. Being of a certain age means that I need a more polished pony that I used to have! In your case, I'd just see it as your "work" pony.

Hey amerlizabeth!! Sorry for the short reply; I am at work on my iPhone so...

About the hair. I love short hair. I rocked what I called "The Angie" in medical school and then it turned into a weird bangs thing. I found there was a lot of opposition to short hair, and I don't have the energy to fight it right now. I guess it just kind of grew out on me too!

The bras size thing: I think sister sizes work to fix particular issues. The SA told me that I could look for a 32D for a 30E and I tried them both on. They both solve my major issues for me which is good, but I think the 30E stays in place better through the day.

I haven't tried VS bras, but I would try another brand and multiple styles before "back fat" is a reason to not wear that size. I think it's mainly due to cut and placement of the strap as opposed to size. Not sure about this as I don't have personal experience.

I am sure others on the forum probably do though! It's common enough!

Good luck and welcome!

I like the sideswept hair look! I think you'd look really great with shorter hair as well. I'm in a hair rut too...I've let mine grow out a bit again because I like the idea of having long hair, but it probably does look better short. After I get it cut, I always think "this is way better! I should always have it shorter like this!" But then as it grows out, I somehow forget, or don't believe my old self that shorter was better. (My profile pic to the left was taken last year, right after one of those cuts).

Did you notice a big difference with the way you looked/felt after the new bra size? I also was following Angie's list and measured myself yesterday. I wasn't too too far off (according to my calculations, I'm a 34C...was previously wearing a mix of 38B and 36C). I tried on a bunch of 34Cs at Victoria's Secret last night (only went there because I had a gift card), and the 34Cs were giving me back-fat issues. The sales girl suggested I try a "sister size" of 36B, and that did seem better. So I'm pretty excited about the new bra, and the prospect of more future better-fitting bras.

Sorry, didn't mean to make the post about myself, just wanted to say that I can relate to the "updates and upgrades" you're working on, because I am too! Also, I love that twist on the hoodie!

Um, you could try to give it a loose clipping ... my hair is straight ... so I don't really have the flatten problem. I sometimes braid my hair to give it a bit more OOMPH but it just brushes right out. So annoying.

Hmm, I will try that. I let my hair air dry every day. I try to scrunch it to get some waves in it, though (my hair is wavy), and I always worry that clipping the bangs to the side will flatten everything. But I will give it a try!

I sure did, Gigi. I don't like it; because it needs SO MUCH product to stay like that!! :)

One of the ways I cheat is when my hair is wet, I part it and clip it the way I want it to fall when it's dry and just let it air dry. 70% of the time it sits the way it's supposed to

@ Gardenchick - It's definitely on the pink spectrum and not very orange coral at all! I don't do orange either! I love the hoodie! It's very soft! ... I say it's a bit small to size, if you like your hoodies more roomy I'd size up. I usually am a "SMALL" at Anthro, and this is a medium.

Lyn, I think you're beautiful, and have a great face shape to try out several different styles it depends upon how short you want to go. I'm not sure length is your friend since your hair doesn't look thick.
My advice if you want to keep it a bit longer would be to go with a "lob" ( or longer bob), parted on the side, with a few long layers added. (A little longer than the first pic)
Or, option number two, a sorter bob, slightly longer in the front than the back, and with side swept long bangs.
Try it! It'll grow back if you don't like it.

@ Gigi - Yeah; I definitely think I look younger with short hair or bangs in general. Most of my colleagues have excessively long hair, but I don't think I should be super stand out with the short hair either. The short hair I had in med school would probably be out of place in my workplace (unfortunately).

Also, you overestimate my abilities to use a curler. The last time I used an eyelash curler I ended up pinching my eyelid and having a hematoma (uh, bruise). I may try one ... eventually ... one day ... *shifty eyes*

@ Una - I was both! My band was too big (my mother told me I was a 36A) and my cup was way too small. I figured out by myself I was at least a C cup, so I had been wearing a 36C for the longest time. I am a 30E. This is why nothing fit!!!

@ Cheryl - Thanks dear! After washing my hair today, it naturally parted the way I wanted it to! It's getting trained!!!!

I like the side part!

Considering the hair...in general, Ionger hair to me gives an impression of being older, while shorter hair (like the bob in your cute pics) gives an impression of being younger. Since you are still working your way up the physician ladder, maybe you want to stick with long hair for now? I'm wondering if short hair plus your fit-and-flares would read too young and inadvertently make it difficult for you to be taken seriously.

As far as easy eye stuff, I bought an eyelash curler and love it! It really opens up the eyes, and you don't need to use mascara.

Love the side part! And a bra fitting, too, on the same day! Those bangs, though, were seriously cute.

Thanks Donna - I had a bunch of different problems including bunching skin under the band when I sat a certain way, pit spillage, and have to accommodate some scar tissue that doesn't stretch. I know what I need now.

I also confirmed with this - http://www.wikihow.com/Measure-Your-Bra-Size

For you bra band size, you can always take the under bust measurement yourself with the measuring tape I'm assuming you have when you make your alterations. For cup size: Quad boob means it is too small or wrong cut; puff cup means it is too big or wrong cut; pulling out in middle means the wrong cut, same with spilling out at the pits. I don't like other people measuring me, regardless of age. Checking the fit I don't mind so much.

I hated my bangs. I cut them one night where I was angry at my life. Haha, that happens a lot :p

I just went to Aerie where I usually buy my bras. I actually went to two separate stores for two different people to measure me, because I wasn't too sure if they were doing it right. They both got the same result without conspiring with each other, so, yay!

There's other undies stores too, but they usually cater to an older crowd, and I think I'd rather have someone my own age do the measurement, as opposed to someone who was like my mom, you know?

ETA: This is the "older person store" I was referring to, as I think Aerie is really teeny-bopper if you weren't into that - I hear Victoria's Secret is really inaccurate, and La Senza makes me anxious to go in there because of LIGHTS AND SPARKLES AND MORE SPARKLES - http://www.lavieenrose.com/web.....2_10001_-1

You were adorable in those bangs!

Where did you go for your bra fitting, if you don't mind my asking. (I think we live in the same place.)
