Too bad about the dresses and puffer, but the blouses sound fun and useful. Love the poet sleeves, leopard print and the NYDJ prints, and you even found more than that, wow. You have made some real headway, it sounds like. Enjoy the new pieces!

Haha, Angie, yep, it’s me! You should see this hat in person. My boyfriend bought it as a joke, because the brim is of epic proportions.

Here are my updates: Every dress I have tried on has been a disaster. They all are made nicely enough and I like the fabric, but they just don’t work with my unique proportions. I don’t recall having particular difficulties with sheath dresses in the past. They used to be my go-to for office wear because I wouldn’t have to worry about coordinating a top and bottom. As predicted, the wrap dress was too clingy and revealed too much cleavage.

Sadly, the puffer is going back. It’s *really* puffy and doesn’t have waist shaping so it’s very square.

The pussy bow blouse will also be going back.

However, I now have a closet full of great blouses. I have two of the poet blouses, the Vince Camuto leopard print. The NYDJ pleated blouse Angie recommended elsewhere, and a couple of others. I also ordered the wide leg plaid pants Angie recommended and am pleased they are nice and long.

There are still some big gaps in my wardrobe, but i feel like I can walk out the door looking a little more polished!

Amy! IT'S YOU. HELLO! How lovely! I didn't recognize you with the hat on in your avatar :)

YES, we're allowed tops that don't layer well. Like for in our glorious Seattle weather now! I bet it's just beautiful on you.

I fully understand the too high neckline challenge. By all means pass.

Robin - a camisole is a good idea under a wrap dress. I'll see how it works out.

Thanks, Roberta Suz & Kkards!

Bonnie, will do! I can't wait until they show up.

Hi Angie! I'm ok with the big poofy sleeves on the poet top. My summer wardrobe is sparse, so it'll fill a gap. Thank you for the suggestion. I worry that that blouse would make a large bust look enormous, given the high collar and the poofiness over the chest region. It's worth a try, though!

Lovely to see you chime in, AmyS!

I echo Roberta and Bonnie You've found some fab stuff! I like your positive attitude!

A few things:

Remember that you can't layer over the Poet's blouse. The sleeves are problematic that way. It's a SUMMER top. Or you need to wear a ruana over it.

Try this blouse, perhaps. It has a pussy bow that does not move! Comes in solids.

What beautiful colors and silhouettes you have chosen! I hope lots of these things work for you. I love Nic and Zoe, the quality is excellent and their colors are beautiful. The print in the top you have chosen also comes in a dress, and I'm still considering it as part of the sale.

Finding clothes for an abrupt change in career can be so stressful. I'm really glad you're finding it fun!

I can see why you like that tweed puffer - very fun! I always have to wear tank under a wrap dress, too worried about slippage

Thanks! Yes, we’ll see how the Ann Klein works on a much curvier body than the model’s—sometimes, what looks like a perfectly nice dress in the product photos can end up looking rather indecent due to my shape, lol.

I wish you luck finding pieces to add to your wardrobe that make you feel good. I like the look of the blouse you've received. Sometimes the models don't fit the shape of the garment very well, which makes it tricky to know how it will fit on us. I have always found necklaces help making a work outfit feel put together.

That tweed jacket is cute. Personally I really like the Anne Klein dress if the neckline is not too low. Sometimes I struggle with that when I have a wrap or faux wrap option. And it sounds like the Vince Camuto leopard print style may be a successful repeat style for you. I like when I can repeat on success.

If you need any finds created, just throw them in here and I'll add them.

After years of working from home in leggings and t-shirts, I have started going back to the office more frequently and have spent significant time in courtrooms (I’m a paralegal). Unfortunately, I have changed shape significantly and no longer can fit in any of the beautiful clothes I had in my closet. I had to buy some emergency blazers for trial and now I’m rounding out my wardrobe. I ordered a lot of stuff. I don’t expect to keep it all, but hope a good deal of it will work for my conservative work environment.

I have received the blue poet blouse. I think it looks better on me than the model simply because the shoulder seams sit where they’re supposed to. It’s a great color, the v-neck will let me show off a pretty necklace, and I can swan about like Lord Byron or Wordsworth.

The mock turtle neck dress is going back however. I’m sure that’s going to be a great dress for some people. The fabric is really nice and thick and has a good stretch. It’s very stiff, however. It just didn’t sit right on my body.

I have my doubts about the pussy-bow blouse. I haven’t really had success with similar blouses in the past, but I’m giving it a try. I think the short sleeves might help minimize the effect of being swallowed by a blouse.

The one review of the black sheath dress suggests the fit is strange, so that will likely go back—but it looks nice in the picture. Fingers crossed!

I’m particularly excited about the puffer (i ❤️ tweed) and the leopard print blouse. I have a polka dotted Vince Camuto blouse that makes me happy every time I put it on. I hope the fit is similar (I ❤️ leopard print too).

Thanks for looking! This is always such a fun time of year!
