I have only tried mine with tunic length - somehow I have a feeling that regular length fitted tops wouldn't work as well, but I haven't had time to play around with them much. Angie also suggested wearing them with dresses - I don't have any, but what about your BR sweater dress from last year? That's what I get for throwing the boots on with the top I was wearing I've got a busy day today (getting my oldest ready for Kindergarten...sigh), but I will try a few more combos and post them, hopefully tonight. </p> <p>I do wear quite a few warm colors so the chestnut will work fine for me. I'm a little worried that if they only look good with leggings and tunics on me, they might not be as versatile as I don't have a variety of tunics. I think the more I see them, the more my eye adjusts to the look. I don't have any problem with the proportions. This is the look and over time, they will scrunch down more. Maybe scrunch them down more and see if you like them. As for color, the chestnut seems really "you" but if you feel black would be more versatile then try that. I agree with GG, I think it's the proportions that are off; we're both tall girls, and I find that those half-calf boots cut me off at the wrong place.
