San: time will tell;-) The white/silver slides are a bit narrower in the heel, but still feel quite comfortable. I'll report back when I've worn them a few times.

The pair I'm raving about really was perfect for me. They're not exactly 'low heels' but very stable. All feet are so different though, so I hope they work out for you and Rosebud.

Rosebud: we definitely need more than one pair of Summer shoes;-))

Both of those pairs are so cool, Christine. Lillybee (the last pair) is the brand of Simply Soles http://www.simplysoles.com/ and is exclusive to the line. They do have free shipping both ways, so I would be fine ordering the last pair to see if they work. It's not next day like Zappos or Endless since it's a smaller outfit, but the last pair of awesome shoes I ordered from them came with a handwritten note from the owner. I love supporting small, personal business who take the time to care for their customers. (I ordered these, they were on sale at the time http://www.simplysoles.com/product/489).

I'm going to take a few days and look some more, but I think I'm leaning towards the last pair or the pair Inge had so much luck with. Or both...

I love the third pair and the last pair the best. I love, love, love the last pair, but it's so hard to tell if something will be comfortable until you try it on. I live in a rural area, so I order almost all my shoes and clothes online. I've had great luck with zappos and endless.com, but I don't know if they carry those particular shoes. Both generally do free next-day shipping, though, as well as free returns.

Thanks for all the continued input! I recently *gasp* just moved from being ten minutes to Nordstrom to being an hour or so away! I hope to try some on next weekend. I'm still somewhat of a novice online shoe shopper and it still makes me nervous to buy them (unless there is free shipping both ways or an easy store return.)

San, I'm really not sure about that first pair where the leather covers the wedge. I can't figure out whether I think it's different and cool or really weird! Joy pointed out that they are 4" high, which probably isn't what I'm going for now, anyway. My ankles turn really easily so I also need to watch out for shoes like the kind you were talking about. I love both the pairs Inge linked to, and her comfort endorsement means a lot!! I like the Tory Burch's, but you make great points about the wood. I think I will just have to try them and see. Probably more than I want to spend, though... I really like the Gentle Souls you linked to - really cool style!!

Angie, I am full of panache...but I often feel like a schizophrenic. I need to read, read and read again about developing personal style and refine mine. But, I'm ready!

The Tori Burch are growing on me. At first I thought they were just so-so but on second look they are very cute and casual. I like the view from the side. The sole has a nice shape to it. The only experience I have had with a wood sole has been the Dr. Sholl's wood soled sandal in the '70's and they were not fun to wear with 0 give to the sole. The advertisment was that they were a good work out of your calve muscles because you had to flex your toes and feet to keep them on. I bought them and only wore them a couple of times even though money was very tight in those days and I couldn't afford to go out and replace them, I still couldn't wear them. I'd be curious to see if the Tori Burch roll along so you don't have to fight them all the way. The Danskos are not wood but they are built to roll along too. It is good for those with certain foot problems to not have to bend the foot with each step. They are good for my feet.

Inge, the silver sandals you are trying out are so pretty. Please keep us informed on how they work out. Do you think they will be as comfy as your old tried and true pair?

I saw these off to the side of the page while looking at your Gentle Souls selection. Ooooh they look so pretty and comfy.
I really like shoes that look like wedge soles but your foot actually stays pretty much flat because of the platform at the front also.
All of your choices are nice. I like to watch out for the heel not being too narrow as if I'm walking on a pointy high heel. Even though they are wedges they can still be unstable.
I am very tempted by the shoes Inge gave her endorsment for. She has had them for years and still says they are so comfotable. That is great, I think I will give them a try. Maybe they will become my go to summer shoes and I will kick the flip flop habit!
Also the first pair you linked to that are orange, I LOVE the color but just don't care for the way the leather covers the wedge. Do you like that?

Joy, I'm glad someone reads the description! I definitely don't want what amounts to a 3inch difference between my heel and toe for an all day shoe. Like I said, I do love the last pair - I just wish it came in half sizes. I may try it anyway as it sounds like it's comfortable. Great point about the vamp - I usually tend towards shoes with low vamps anyway but often with straps I guess I don't think about it as much.

Inge, thanks for all your input! I should have clarified that I LOVE color! One of the issues is that I have about four pairs of patent red shoes, but none that are sandals. So, I'm sort of trying to branch out a bit.

I was thinking the same thing about the teal shoes - while I can wear flip-flops fine (sorry Angie, it's the California girl in me, but I don't wear them in the city!) these I'm not sure about.

I really like both of the pairs you linked to. It's great to try shoes others have had success with.

I had noticed the first pair on the Nordstrom site too, and would love to see them on;-)

I really like the look of the turquoise Trinity sandal, but I personally cannot wear a 'toe strap'.

The wood on the Patti wedge made me think of an older pair of shoes I have myself.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MA8ERI
They are the most comfortable pair of wedge slides I have ever owned!! (mine were a lighter colour, with a 'lizzard' pattern). Of course, comfort is a very personal thing. Despite the heel height, I could walk in these for hours on end.

The Me Too's: why are you hesitant about the colour? Red could be very versatile. Angie always says it's a neutral;-)
I agree with Joy though. If you are planning to wear them mostly with skirts and dresses, than something with a lower vamp would probably be more versatile.

I recently bought these in white. I'm still testing them out for comfort, but they look great:

The last pair you linked too is lovely too Rosebud!

Rosebud, you might consider the vamp height. Those with a lower vamp like the first and last pair will make your legs look longer and be easier to wear with a variety of outfits. The patent ones have a high vamp.
You also have different heel heights posted. The first one has a 4" heel plus 1" platform! Probably not 8 hour shoes. My choice of those you posted would be the last one with the shorter heel, if you are ok with slingbacks.
I have wedge sandals for summer still going from last year and before. They are, in general, a very comfortable style.

Hi ladies! I am looking for a nice, smart casual wedge that is comfortable and I'm having a hard time making decisions. I was hoping for some input/opinons on some of these shoes. I haven't posted any pictures (planning on it soon, once I master the art of it) but I'm 5'4" on a good day, full hourglass (generally). I want the pair to be comfy, with a bit of height.

What are your takes on these shoes? I think I'm looking for a camel/brown shoe but am open for others! Some of these are more than I want to spend, but are styles I'm considering.

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....9&P=5
Do you think these would look strange?

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....9&P=5
Too boring?

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....9&P=3
Never heard of this brand - anyone tried them?

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....9&P=3
Basic. Think the wood could either be comfy or a killer.

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....9&P=1
While I love patent, I'm not sure about the colors for spring/summer.

http://www.simplysoles.com/product/769
I've been looking at these for a while...

I truly appreciate your input! Also, if you have wedges you love and get lots of wear out of, please let me know! Thank you!
