Hi again, I have Asics too and they're good.
I truly recommend not going barefoot, even around the house, until your feet heal. I'm convinced this is what got me into this mess last summer. It was so hard in the heat to not just slip on the flimsy sandals. I sympathize. But that's what worked for me, sneakers beside the bed for putting on first thing, no excuses. My summer fashion was uh, not good. But I could walk!
Good luck, hang in there.

Oh fingers crossed, I’ve been hobbling around like a 100 year old witch! It’s the worst as I get out of bed or if I’ve been sitting for a period of time. Someone recommended a book called pain free which has a variety of stretches that I do every morning, I’m so desperate I’ll try anything! I pretty much wear my ASICS with custom orthos everyday but I honestly don’t find the orthotics helping at all. I’m trying so hard to stop going barefoot but I am a barefoot girl and find myself kicking my slippers off, I think I might have to resort to a house clog. I desperately welcome all advice! On a side note, I love those ED sneakers and the dansko booties!

Faith, I am so sorry! Pf can be really painful, I couldn't walk when I got out of bed but it would get a little better through the day. My solution was always wearing sneakers with the most cushioned and supportive heel cup (saucony gel sneakers, plus extra cushy inserts), all the time, absolutely no going barefoot. And, stretching. There are lots of stretches out there, and I can't say if any particular one helped me though.

Lots of people on this forum have been pf sufferers and I'm sure will have other advice. But it can get better, believe me, it just takes time and patience.

I had it once before, in my 20s, then no problems for 20 years, then last year's awfulness. So, I'm hoping for another good 20 years and I hope that for you too!

How, please god tell me HOW, you have rid yourself of the dreaded faciitis? I am in agony! I’ve never had it before and I can barely walk. I don’t mean to hijack your happy post about footwear which I have copied down to buy but I’ve found nothing that’s working. Will it ever go away?

I have difficult feet also and have many NAOT sandals and Rockports in general. love them! Great style picks- especially those lace up sandals . ( I found rolling foot over new tennis ball can help reduce flair ups of pf- not for everybody I’m sure)
Wishing you a wonderful summer of happy feet

Comfort and foot issues first!!!!! Good finds. There seems to be a bigger selection of comfortable looking sandals this spring than in the past. A lot with rubbery thicker soles, etc. that are also fashionable looking like your Rockport.

Hi all, I have been working on my warm-weather footwear collection and thought I would share!

I had a terrible flare-up of plantar fasciitis last summer, so I ended up getting rid of almost all my summer shoes. After a winter of ankle boots with very cushiony inserts, my feet are quite a bit better. I'm determined to have a spring and summer of happy feet, without resorting too much to purely athletic sneakers.

Here's what I've found. These are all very comfy, all true to size, and most have removable inserts for custom orthotics (even the Noat blue sandals, which I love and which look better with a foot in them).

I'm doing a happy dance in my new Danskos today, and intend to carry on through the summer...and am also going on a shopping break because whew, that's a lot of new shoes.
