Shevia for me it's that they were a thing for my little girls in the 90s, and how they would look on me is way worse than even leggings as pants would, as now my white legs, veins etc would all be on show as well! Shorts I wear for the hottest days only and not out and about very much, certainly never to work. So we may end up with the longest thread of 2019 about bike shorts if they become something we are told we should be wearing when NOT cycling. Most of the trendy gym wear companies are selling them -- Girlfriend Collective, Sweaty Betty, etc. A few years ago, the big thing with female hikers and backpackers was the very short version of bike shorts -- booty shorts? Hot pants? Not a look I could ever make work, because those short inseams always ride up on my thighs. I'm excited for longer inseams that provide a little more coverage and stay put. A lot of these trends sound fun to me, spring or otherwise: tulle and plissé skirts are really appealing, along with fishnets, grunge, and military styles.
