Spring? What spring? We had snow a couple of times this week and blooming plants are far behind. We are at the daffodil/dandilion stage.

Here’s a sign of spring. These are some tomato and pepper plants I started April 2nd. I have them outside in the sun. Today they get 30 minutes. I do set the kitchen timer so I don’t kill them. I had to stop putting them outside for several days because it was so cold and windy. We even had a tiny bit of snow. Today the forecast is for 78F.

East Coast here. DC has current temps at 56 degrees. The good thing is that we had a total 1.5" of snow this whole Winter but boy it's been cold out. Knowing where we live, we usually seem to skip Spring and start up with Summer whenever we got a warm front.

We have had more of the same. I took the first picture at work the second picture for a brief moment the sun came out and my daughter came to greet me at my car after work. and it was in the high 50s. Then it went back to snow. We might as well just go ahead and Skip spring and go right to Summer.

Bay Area, Northern California. Y’all have heard about how I’ve been living for the past few months with my closet empty and all my seasonal clothing storage bins out? How I haven’t been able to decide to bring winter out or store it? We had hail on Monday and it’s April! The forecast is dry until May and then rain again.

So this is what I’ve done now: I’ve put away all winter tops and left out all winter bottoms and socks. And I Just Don’t Care. My plan is To Suffer

I'm in Southern Norway, Scandinavia. It's been a long and snowy winter here. Last Saturday (April 14) was the first day this year I was able to wear sneakers instead of boots when leaving the house. My parents, who live one hour's drive from me, still have PLENTY of snow in their garden. However, the last few days they have been able to enjoy the sunshine on their terrace. My mother (85) just told me that today she had even been wearing shorts! To me, this is a real sign of spring.

I'm in St. Paul, Minn. We had blizzard conditions most of the day Saturday (got over a foot of snow), and the snow continued into Sunday, when we got an additional maybe six inches? Some of it has melted, but there's still plenty left. In fact, there's so much snow piled in the parking lot at my apartment complex that several parking spots are lost due to the sheer size of the piles.

We're supposed to possibly get more snow tomorrow, although there are rumors that it might actually change to rain. More snow might be scheduled for Friday.

I feel bad for all the returning birds. They are struggling to survive the cold, and there isn't any food for them to eat. We've had only a handful of decent days this last month.

My birthday is early May, and I always look forward to the lilacs blooming around that time. This year I doubt we will see any lilacs until June.

Fabbers have raised my appreciation for my weather. I am in AWE of all of you living in harsh weather.

Mostly 60’s in the 10 day forecast. Gray yesterday, expected rain and thunderstorms didn’t happen. Sunny today. A brief period of heavy rain a few days ago with heavy hail in the region.

Wisteria is amazing this year as we had a lot of rain. We had a very early hot spell a while back and our apple tree bloomed.

Seattle.

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN. Windy, and very wet. Cold. High of 8 degrees today. 12 to 16 is the norm. The wet cold is awful. But at least it’s not snow. I don’t like snow for longer than one day. You have sympathy.

Sun is extremely rare. Very, grey. I want to move to LA.

But it’s EXTREMELY green. Lots of flowers and cherry blossoms. The foliage is as lush as can be - so there IS that. Our garden looks gorgeous. And it should be a sunny 17 degrees on Thursday. I’m excited.

I am 6+ hour drive south of the Messina, Ny -Cornwall / Ontario bridge area and about 3-4 hr drive south west from Mass Friends.
News reports from Midwest and Canada look horrible and looking at pics of Boston marathon I wonder if those runners don’t get hypothermia.

I feel like Dorothy in WOO with the wind- keep thinking house will go airborne. Rain is coming down in buckets and sideways but will not complain as precip is neither freezing nor that other dirty 4 letter word. ( for once)Had to drive into NJ and most of roads were flooded and had detours- typical for them.
Hubby got me a book of poems by TS Eliot a while back. In one of his poems he says “ April is the cruelest month”. He ain’t kidding.
Hang tough - we will get through this- now where’s the wine?

The weather is our fault. We had our snow tires changed earlier this week. Sorry! I’m in Toronto and it took an hour to get to work (usually takes 40 minutes). A friend nearby had a tree on her property knocked down at 11:30 pm last night and has been without power all day. She reports it’s getting a little chilly in the house. I drove by a house with a huge tree laying on the front of it this morning. I feel for those home owners. Even with all the rain today, there’s still snow on the ground. Ugh!

Canadian Prairies here. It has been sheer misery until now, and finally , finally, it''s about 8C today and sunny, and the snow is almost all gone . I considered launching into patio-cleaning and set-up mode today but decided not to push my luck. I'm done with boots and coats and am wearing light jackets now. Spring clothing is coming out bit by bit but very , very slowly. We escaped the horrible ice storms in the east, and the major snow dump in Minneapolis (to the south east) that created some dicey moments for our Jets playoff game against the Wild. I changed the main bathroom over to spring yesterday (shower curtain, rugs, artwork, flowers etc etc) even though it's a bit early, but I am desperate for colour and warmth. Fingers crossed for Spring for everyone !

We actually had temps in the high 70s, low 80s on Friday and Saturday here is SE PA with beautiful sunny skies. Then late Saturday the winds were wild, bringing temps down at least 40 degrees. Windy all through the night and into Monday morning with torrential downpours of at least 2 inches, if not more A few roads closed due to flooding and some power outages. The sun then peeked out around noon and it stopped raining, but as of a few minutes ago it got windy out again.

I am a bit west of Diana but same weather. It's raining buckets in New England today, not just a lot of rain but HARD rain and bone-chilling raw cold. FLash flood warnings in places that usually flood. I did my annual "participation" in the Boston Marathon by watching TV coverage of the winners crossing the finish line :-). (I did go watch part of it for real many years ago). The winners in mens/womens divisions were both visibly shivering while being given their medals. That is a first. These are elite athletes in superb physical condition....that tells you at lot. We do typically get some weather like this in April but usually some warmer days too. Definitely colder than normal and it's not changing for at least a few more days. The garden centers are open and ready for business and the ground is thawed but it's just too cold to do any real gardening yet.

We're having our typical wildly variable spring weather. It was 81 degrees last Thursday and then 54 the next day. It's always windy in the spring. Although our spring weather is fairly normal so far, our winter was so warm and dry that the fire danger is already high and the National Forest Service already has fire restrictions in place. Our rainy season doesn't start until July, so it's very early to already have started fire restrictions. If it gets too bad, they'll close the national forests to hiking, camping, and picnic-ing.

Port Hope checking in (halfway between torontogirl and Suz along the northern shore of Lake Ontario.) We live in a newer subdivision so wires and cables underground, no tall trees overhead, and high and dry. No worries about getting to work now that we are retired! DH has gone out and reports walkway and driveway are ice, but town streets are good! We have the fire place going, library books to read, and I'm going to bake cookies.

Kingston reporting. We have weather similar to Toronto's. We started with ice pellets, then snow, ice rain, and now rain, but it is cold enough that everything remains frozen and the ground is slick and dangerous. I cancelled my last class this morning. I have not switched out my closet to spring clothing or even given much thought to what I might wear in that apparently non-existent season. I am very glad I purchased new boots 2 months ago. At the time, I thought, am I crazy? I will only use those for a few weeks. However, I've been proved wrong.

It snowed briefly yesterday morning in Boston and then turned into sleet. Today (Marathon Monday/Patriot's Day) we have a full day of cold rain and wind. I feel really bad for the marathon runners today - on top of the terrible weather, there are far fewer spectators around to cheer them on.

I'm so over this.

Northern Italy here. Report of the last few days. Friday 13: rainy, cold, dark grey sky and towards 5 p.m. a huge hailstrom that destroyed flowers, trees, veggies in orchards and probably some roofs. Saturday 14: sunny, 20 degrees C, blue sky, looked like Summer. Sunday 15: grey, very humid, coldish. Today: sunny again, mild. But this is the typical Spring weather, yes.
