I really love #5 & 6. I had the same thought as others, tho. Are flats really comfortable enough for a lot of standing?
Thank you very much for your input ladies!

Scarlet, actually all the potential pairs (4, 5 and 6) have a small wedge. It is a hidden one one in #4, an about an inch tall, but it is there. That is precisely why I chose them. And I do have some older shoes with higher wedges that are comfy, a bit worn, but cans till serve for at least a season.

bj1111, I would like to get all 4-7, but not sure if it will happen. #5 are the first ones to get next, so those are for sure. Between #4 and #6, #4 would be comfier and #6 has more visual impact, so it kind of a tie. The sandals, #7, I would get for sure too, as I need something to wear out of the lab too, and he summers here are really long and hot. Plus I have't gotten any new sandals in the last two summers.

Shannon, Asters are super comfy from walking around the apartment, they are nicely padded. When it comes to sizing, I am normally a 8 but go with 8.5 sometimes in flats. These are 8.5 and there is a bit of room in the toe box, 8 would have probably worked too. But since they have this hard cap toe, I am going to err on the side of larger as I do not want my toes squished.

Tanya - I have been eyeing those SE Aster slipper flats for ages - are they comfortable? TTS?

I think the ones you've chosen and are keeping are all fantastic. I also really like all of the other ones you've linked to. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them and they will totally refresh your spring/summer wardrobe. Personally I would choose the Donald J Pliner wedge shoes in the smooth leather rather than the suede - I think they'd be easier to keep clean.

They all look spectacular, and I would love to hear the comfort factor on them. Several of these are brands I have looked at but never taken the plunge on because of fussy feet.

I agree, shoes are a grat way to spruce up a wardrobe. Your choices are superb.

great haul on 1-3. of these, #3 is my fave. though #1 could edge it out in comfort.

of the possibles, are you planning to get all of these or just a couple? if the latter, i lean toward the wedges for style and comfort then the leopard for something different. i like the edelman open toe for fun. this is where the metallic is really nice and probably more long lasting than in the toe caps.

My concern would be are flats really the most comfortable for you for a lot of standing, or would you want to have some more heel height variation. I know you have the one pair of wedges, but all the others look very flat.

Thank you very much for your input ladies!

Claire, I will report on the comfort. I haven't worn any of the 1-3 out of the house yet, as we still have this ridiculous snow in MD. But I have worn #1 around the apartment for a while, and they are dreamy, like walking on clouds. #3 are quite flat and non-supportive, but I sized up and added an insert.

Suz, you bring up some good points. I love the metallic toe thing too and I hope two pairs would not be too much. If they date fast, I could see dyeing the cap on #5 in some kind of black to done it down. As for the wedges, it is on purpose. My old 2-3" wedges are work shoes and are fairly comfy. But I have plenty of them and do not need more. Plus, my feet are getting fussier and I am spending more and more time on my feet in the lab. So comfort is now more important than ever, hence low wedges. They also happen to be on trend so there are more choices than usual.

They all look terrific, Tanya. I guess one question might be will the metallic toes thing be a trend that dates them quickly? (I happen to love the trend personally, so I might not care anyway, but thought I would mention.)

Another question -- these are all much flatter than your older wedges -- is that on purpose or are the older 2 or 2.5 inch high wedges I've seen non-work shoes?

I have decided to focus on shoes for the upcoming spring/summer season as it seems like the simplest way to update my wardrobe and I need a bunch of new shoes anyway, since a lot of my old ones are in bad state - I am pretty hard on my shoes. So the past month I have been slowly acquiring some transitional spring shoes, as I can not wear open toed ones in the lab.
In addition to the silver Ash wedge sneakers that I have already posted and worn, I got these three pairs (all keepers):
1. Sam Edelman Aster slipper flat, white snakeskin texture, with silver metal cap
2. Everybody Bardino oxfords in stone
3. DV by Dolce Vita cobalt calf hair pointy slipper flats

I am also hoping to get the following in the next couple of months:
4. MIz Mooz mint pointy loafers
5. Donald J Pliner black pointy low wedges (they come in both suede as pictured and smooth leather and I am not sure which to pick)
6. Halogen ankle strap leopard low wedges
7. Sam Edleman Sophie sandals (for out of work).

I would appreciate any input/thoughts on missing something/skipping a particular pair etc. Other than the last pair, they wold all be for work/lab, which has a strict dress code: only long pants/jeans are allowed ( no skirts, dresses, shorts, cropped pants etc.) and closed toed shoes only. I tend to work long hours standing, so comfort is a must. In terms of spring wardrobe colors for my clothes, I intend to focus on the following: all white, white&black combos, pastels (mint and blush in particular) and bright blues/greens.
