Here are a few more I found:

This a-line coat from Kohl's is available in rose and khaki. I thought it had the smaller sizes in stock last night, but they are missing now.
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStor.....incoat.jsp

This single breasted trench from Roamans is available in a pale grey, if that's an option. But it's only approximately 38 inches long.
http://www.roamans.com/clothin.....38;pref=ps

This plaid swing coat from Zaftique is available in red/black, white/black and hot pink/black. I'm not a big fan of plaids but I love this pattern and it looks so flattering!
Red
This lace wrap overcoat from Zaftique is available in garnet red (it also comes in coffee brown and black).

Cappy, you're a star! Thank you so much for this. I'm all set for wool coats, but I could look into one of the longer ones and see if it could be shortened.

I know you said you don't want double breasted, but just LL Bean has a nice trenchcoat for sale right now. It is double breasted but it's pretty thin. It's knee length and it's not insulated so you could add a warm sweater underneath if you wanted to. It runs a size big. I know this because mine came today and it's an XS. I never wear an XS. LOL

Michelle, the Lands End coat that I linked does not have a drawstring belt...it has a short belt across the middle of the back that is attached with a button on both ends, and this belt detail is centered over the inverted back pleat that gives detail and ease to the coat.

By the way, I love the dress you inquired about. The colors are gorgeously rich and I love the cut. I would not be able to wear it, as my cleavage is quite high on my torso and I am quite modest, but it is something I would wear if it the V neck was cut higher. You go girl!

My dear Michelle, it's very hard to find a long Spring trench coat. I've been trying to look for those for a couple of weeks at the request of my clients - and it's a dead end so far. Spring trenches are short. My Spring trenches happen to be long because I bought them all in Autumn - but they work for Spring.

Have you tried Micheal Kors?

Thanks, ladies.

Bella: Ok, I will stalk the dress. Somehow I really, really want it. :)

Cappy, thank you for pasting in the coat descriptions. As it happens I checked all of those out earlier on today, and there's so much right about many of them...but non-removable linings are sadly a deal-breaker for me. The Michael Kors one was the best-looking option, but 38 inches is too short for my tall figure (things need to be at 40 before they hit my knees). The red Gallery coat looked great, too, but the 3x is too large for me.

Sheila, funny you send along that Lands End link. I had ruled that coat out earlier today because of the drawstring-like belt. They had another option that sounded fantastic until I realized it was double-breasted.

Amyreh: I will be holding out for a knee-length trench. It will be much more appropriate for occasions when I want to dress up. And I do have some cute cropped and hip-length options for when a longer coat is excessive.

Michelle, have you ever checked out any of the Lands End outerwear? There are several options that I looked at; this one one is available in a nice plum color, a medium blue, and coral:

http://www.landsend.com/pp/Sol.....038;sku_0=::TVY&CM_MERCH=search-_-rain+coat&origin=search#

The Lands End clothing is usually more sporty than Nordstrom, but this coat and some others seem to have a classic style that might work for you. I was not able to find a measurement of the length, sorry. Perhaps a call to their Customer Service number would give you that information.

Michelle, first off, that dress is exceptional! But, wowza, that is spendy! It looks like that site does has good sales though. As far as coats, do you have a preference for wool or a trench coat?

Nordstrom has a few candidates right now.

1) The Gallery Nepage Three Quarter Length Trench Coat in deep red. It is 40 inches from shoulder. On sale now for $139 USD but only available online in a size 3X. Classic tailoring shapes a chic belted trench topped with a face-framing split-lapel collar. A detachable hood and cozy removable lining allow versatile three-season wear.
Front button closure. Polyester; machine wash.
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ga.....tback=4230

2) Michael Kors Split Lapel Trench Coat in deep purple. Currently only available in 2x though. It is 38 inches long. On sale now for $105 USD. A face-framing split-lapel collar tops a classically styled trench cinched at the waist with a tie belt. A detachable hood and removable liner provide smart three-season versatility. Front button closure. Front yoke flaps. Front patch pockets. Button cuffs. Inverted back kick pleat. Water-resistant. Polyester lining. Cotton/polyester; dry clean.
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/mi.....tback=4230

3) The London Fog Logo Snap Topper in blackberry (a dark purple). The website doesn't list length but it appears to be knee length. Currently this one is $108. Water-resistant topper is fashioned with a club collar, detachable hood and logo-embossed snaps for an updated yet still classic look. A tie belt cinches the waist to define the silhouette, while a flannel twill liner provides added warmth (doesn't say if the liner is removable).
Slant button pockets. Polyester; machine wash.
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/lo.....tback=1967

4) Marc New York by Andrew Marc All Weather A-Line Topper in chocolate (a dark brown). This one is 40 inches long and currently $108 USD. Softly flared A-line silhouette defines an all-weather topper with front zip pockets and a detachable hood. Front button closure. Belted cuffs. Inverted back pleat. Polyester; dry clean.
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ma.....tback=1675

5) The Gallery Hooded Trench Coat in Indigo a pretty medium blue color. The website doesn't list length but it appears to be knee length. This one is currently $118 USD. A detachable hood adds functionality to a single-breasted belted trench. Front vertical-entry pockets are topped with horizontal faux button flaps. Detachable belt. Back slit. Lined (doesn't say if lining is removable). Polyester; machine wash.

Hi Michelle, do you absolutely need something that goes past your waist or hips? Perhaps a cute leather jacket or a hip length trench might give you more options? It does seem hard to find a non-double breasted lightweight coat down to the knee in not black or tan, I will give you that! : )

I thought I was all set for outerwear, but I've recently had to face the cold light of day concerning one of my most important pieces...I should have sized up on my Blackberry trench coat. It's just not long enough as is and hits about mid-thigh when it's fastened (a big bust will do wild things to coat length). This wasn't a major issue before, but my new fondness for skirts and dresses has created a bit of a situation. I do not like coats that hit half-way down the skirt and leave part of it exposed. Therefore it stands to reason that I have to find a coat that hits around the lower part of my knee.
Problems:
1. Finding a colour other than black or tan in my size can be a challenge
2. My size also precludes double-breasted styles
3. And styles with a super-high neck (face-framing v-type collars are definitely best).
4. If it has a non-removable lining, I'm out -- I run too hot for that.

I am willing to be flexible on other things. I don't care if the coat is hooded. I don't insist on belted (a gentle a-line could work for my body). Removable linings are ideal, and I'm cool with unlined options too. Colours I will accept are just about anything other than black or tan. :)

Has anyone, anywhere, seen anything of the sort?

Also, am I wrong to think this dress is worth stalking online in hopes of a discount?
