I'm so glad my spring description resonates with you! yes to fragrance! I find fragrance can really express a season. So perhaps you will too? I am excited to hear what you find! There are so, so many out there.

I do love orange. I tend to wear it off and on all year for some reason. It gives me energy. I started a summer mood board a couple years ago. As I was pinning, orange kept popping up all over, particularly blood orange. I really enjoy it.

Ket, I love your description of spring! "
Femininity. Fresh. Floral. Fruity. Floaty. Flirty

" so poetic. And fragrance, I forgot about this part completely. Thank you

I will also look into
"pinks, corals, and cooler greens for colors". Orange is for autumn in my book though, very stereotypical I guess.

Sal, my struggles are similar, I want to enjoy and celebrate this season, which is short in Mediterranean, it is a tiny sliver between warm winter and scorching summer. It is too cold to dress in summer fabrics and too bad to continue in winter garb when there are petals and rainbows in teh air.

Love both outfits for spring. They are very elegant. You suit the high contrast and also the lovely pale aqua.

I am in NZ and it is still summer - and I love summer so I am not ready to think about autumn at all!! In Spring I struggle - I want to wear lighter fabrics and it is often too chilly. I am looking for the perfect jacket to wear with pants and skirts in spring - I will know it when I see it.

We don't really get spring where I live. Spring is more or less slushy snow dumps alternating with warm sunny days. Then one day in May or June, the snow stops and it's finally hot and sunny. That said, I do really love a proper spring.

Spring to me is more clear colors, juiciness, lightness. Femininity. Fresh. Floral. Fruity. Floaty. Flirty. I think of chiffon, lawn, and crepe fabrics. Everything gets to lighten and brighten in the spring. I'm personally a dark/deep autumn, so cannot successfully wear actual spring season colors. As the weather warms, I shift to my season's oranges, pinks, corals, and cooler greens for colors, and maybe a bit of red or terracotta; navy and some cream for neutrals. I also wear a fair bit of olive in the summer, too. (Not sure why!) I shift to a bronzed berry/pink lip, coral lip, and a nude lip for makeup. I'll shift my scents too to say, Narciso Rodrigues For Her EDP, Dolce & Gabbana The One, or maybe Elie Saab The Perfume. Still very floral but still rather sensual.

Your outfits are just stunning by the way! So chic, so glamorous! xo

Today I I think I managed to put together a much more spring-ey outfit! Blouse has floral pattern, and pants seem lighter green then when I pair it with solid tops. This is interesting - the pairing I prefer for two part outfits (skirt+top, pants+top) is color plus pattern. I can wear only two solid colors together of course, but it lacks something, usually item in third color/pattern. If proportion of color is different, like dress (big) plus earrings (small), then just two colors are ok.
I guess I am high value contrast but low chroma contrast. Or it is all in my head:)

I would be greatfull for any suggestions.

I love when the almond trees blossom. And especially the citrus trees. Our winter has been very mild, but it is still chilly indoors and I am still dressing in sweaters and jackets - Spring means a blouse will do. You look elegant and lovely in your outfit!

For me pastels always say spring. When I lived in NJ our springs were always wet and cold, so I would wear sweaters in lighter colors. I also add white jeans which instantly make an outfit feel more spring to me.

I also really like floral prints in spring. One of my favorite casual items for spring (and fall) is a floral printed hoodie.

Lovely spring-like combo Val, the soft slouchy aqua-green sweater works perfectly combined with navy, very evocative of Van Gogh’s blossoms in spring.

Spring is still a few months away where I live and it can be a real mixed bag of weather, but with more daylight happening, I always feel the need to lighten my colour palette a bit. Burgundy gives way to more pinks and purples. Lighter blues take over for dark navy and floral ditsy prints are again back in circulation.

And these yellow slingbacks are very versatile, I remember them from your other posts. I was just think what would be a good footware with white bottoms, yellow sounds fantastic

Don't remember what designer had all summer collection in burdungy leather recently, I just doesn't appeal to me in the same way as it would in colder weather. And I think it won't look good in bright summer light. Maybe in a city...

I love half tuck! I tried it all tucked in and a little bloused out, it looked nice but very "done"

The cat, oh, thank you for the list of spring colors that work for you, I will look into it.

And thanks to everyone for kind words!

Your light green & navy outfit says spring to me. You look very fab.

I, too, aim to dress in a way that feels in harmony with the current season. This has become more and more important to me.

Colours I love to wear in spring are: lemon yellow, clear bluish pink, lilac, clear purple, sky blue, periwinkle blue, light emerald green, light grey, silver, cool beige, and navy.

In spring, I pull out my short-sleeved tops. However, my spring is cool, so most of the time I will need a topper, like a light cardigan. I enjoy dressing in (thin) layers and have a good collection of light-weight scarves. I will also pull out my white jeans, and I always look forward to give my boots and booties (the black ones in particular) a rest and be able to wear ballet flats and other chic shoes even outdoors.

As for jewellery, I consider spring to be a perfect season for wearing my transparent, gold and glass pieces, as they catch and reflect the light I have longed for in my long, dark winter.

Well, I reviewed my Finds, and I do have some pastels that I can wear in spring. Since our springs can still run cool (and rainy) I’ve added two sweaters in lighter colours.

You look lovely, Val! Elegant dressier trousers that you wear beautifully! Nice juxtaposition with the slouchy layered sweaters. Excellent semi-tuck that adds lots to the look ;)

We are far away from Spring here in Seattle! And our Springs are cold. Like Suz and Sharan, I wear warm knits and coats.

Actually, I wear Spring palettes - (sour brights, pastels, and cream and white shoes) - YEAR round. Signature, or "style constants"!

I DO switch out to white and cream jeans from February onwards. Wear fewer blue jeans. I don't wear burgundy anymore. That waits till the following Winter. But continue to wear a bit of earthy toffee year round.

Also -- almond blossoms already! Sigh.... (I am in Canada, in a warmer part of our country than Carla, but still, spring is a ways away here, too...though we do have snowdrops!)

I entirely understand the desire to wear lighter colours in spring, even if the temperatures are still cold. I have a couple of sweaters in floral patterns and/ or clearer, soft colours or white, precisely for this transition. I also wear cotton and silk more in that transitional time.

Beautiful outfit, Val. I love the semi-tuck--such a simple thing to do, and it has a big effect on the look, emphasizing the drape of the pants. We're not into spring here, yet, but I always crave lightness like you describe, especially lighter colors. So I've gathered a collection of lighter-colored wool or warm sweaters that will carry me through until truly lighter (weight) clothing will work.

Spring is a couple of months away for me, here in Canada! We’ve been getting snow and colder (-10degC) temps. I’m jealous of your almond blossoms and gentle spring temps!

Eau de nil is such an evocative name for that pale green, and it pairs well with navy IMO (in my opinion). I have very few pastels and my colouring is low contrast so they aren’t always the best for me. In spring I get out my white denim bottoms and pair them with navy blue!

One of the directions I want to take my wardrobe in 2025 is dressing more according to seasons and context, away from universal one-suites-all-occasions outfits. It is less about fitting into fashion seasons then about being in the present, paying attention to what is going on around me.

So it is early spring here right now - almond trees broke into bloom two days ago (when I first saw that Van Gogh painting I recognized instantly what he saw), but it is not warm enough for single layer of clothes or sandals. (at least not warm enough for me, teenagers and tourists from Northen Europe went all short sleeve !)
I took inventory of my clothes for the first time and realized that all my colder weather things are dark and definitely not spring-like.
So I thought what would feel like spring to me: light and clear colors, especially of water and spring flours, transparency (I would really like to have some cristal or glass jewelry), flawing fabrics, pearls and mother of pearls, silver, dress or skirt or scarf with a swoosh, watercolor print…
What says spring to you?
I have one eau-de-Nil sweater and that’s it (I have some clear color blouses but don’t know how to combine them with warmer layers).
Pants seem bit too formal but otherwise I like the way it turned out (pants and under layer are navy, not black like it seem on the photo) . I tried to do lighter makeup and wavy hair. Shoes are disappointing as usual, but I am working on it.
