This is an interesting (to me anyways, hehe) revisit! I've amended with current comments.

Some observations:

It took me a year to find culottes, can you believe that?

Coordinates & two-piece dresses I continue to keep an eye out for, for spring/summer - I did find things for winter.

Red, black, white and grey have become my 'palette for the now'

And as I say this... while walking the dog this morning, I was thinking *I'm going to wear my coordinating pine green top and pants tomorrow*... so this gives you a sense of what 'declining' means. Not out, but not being so actively explored.

The Valentino Art Nouveau/Arts & Crafts/Tribal thing has actually transformed into a Dolce & Gabbana Flamenco thing for this summer. I put them in the same category, tho. There's something 'folk tale' about all of these things to me.

My list last year for Spring (& Summer) 2014:

Thanks, NDMom! I might just make one for summer. I'm feeling unfocused...

Neel - I don't know much about my style either, haha! Re. "Earthy offsets," basically I meant pastels with dark tan. I thought that was striking and maybe a way for me to try pastels, which I generally find too sweet. I think I'll make an effort to look for black/white gingham and cabbage rose florals... I probably haven't seen them because I haven't been looking...

I do not know much about your style RachyLou ... But the items marked in *** are still on trend IMO. Gingham, floral bomber ... I see them everywhere. I am not quite sure what earthy offsets mean. Accessories?

I agree with you on the unavailability of the 2 star items. I saw some lilacs in zara today. Midis ... No luck. Although h&m in other countries seems to stock a few. I was recommended Asos for midis a few days ago. I have seen two piece dresses in the lower end retail stores here. But not really anything that tickled my fancy. Haven't seen culottes either.

I think you should definitely keep looking. Because your list sounds great to me!

Oh, that's a good idea, Diane. I should compare my list to Angie's update on trends (something to do instead of work and laundry? lol). I think you're also right about the floral bomber - the time may have passed.

I've been looking for culottes for-ever. For years. Just nothing. I guess I could go online... I try to avoid that though, usually.

It's interesting how our initial likes change over a few months. And also interesting how you can't actually find some of the items. I guess it take a good while for things to get ensconced into general retail. But culottes and midis? I'm surprised really. As for should you look for certain things, floral bombers were starting to trend last year weren't they? I think I'd assess how log they might hang around, though the shape is classic and versatile. Check your list against Angies recent blog post about trends and see how you feel.

Haha, I was browsing through my Yahoo Notepad notes and saw I'd made a list of my likes for Spring 2014. Must have done that at the time of the fashion shows.

Do y'all remember what you thought last year about now? (Does that make any sense?)

My list last year for Spring (& Summer) 2014:

Soft folds

'Roomier' pants*

Valentino Art Nouveau/Arts & Crafts/Tribal

Midi skirts**

Cocoon coat

Blanket coat

Bomber (floral)***

Culottes**

Waistcoat/Skirt/Knee-pant Coordinates**

Two-piece dresses**

Braids

Pointy shoes

Rounded-point knee-hi boots*

D'Orsay flats

Pine green

Lilac**

Blush

Mint

Circus stripe

Black large check, gingham***

Earthy offsets***

I wish I'd added something in terms of how I'd have worn all theses things - e.g., "ladylike," "milkmaid," etc. Lol.

Anyways, interesting to note what I've gone-off (marked by *). Not so interested in the knee-hi boots and have amped up on the skinnies actually - no "roomy pants" for me.

Also interesting to note what I've had no luck finding (marked by **). In particular - midi skirts. I see lots of maxis, no midis.

And then there are the things I've forgotten to look for (***). Question is, should I bother now?

AND what I missed listing: baby blue - should have done it(!)

Last but not least, I don't remember looking at the Valentino collection until a few weeks ago... but apparently I must have and liked it back then too.

Now the question is, do I want to keep on this path for Summer, really? I feel a need re-evaluate silhouettes and shapes...
