I also agree that you should get up earlier do your exercises and then shower and put on fresh clothes. When I've brought my spouse to conventions, he'll tend to dress more casual, as will the other spouses both male and female. I would suggest no jeans or sweats but a casual dress and comfortable shoes, or a casual trouser would be most appropriate.

Honestly? I would be more concerned about being sweaty/post workout than the clothes. So I would agree with the others - get up a bit earlier, cut the workout short, or work out after breakfast.

(As for sporty luxe, I think it's totally a matter of environmental norm. If its truly business or even biz cas, you could probably get away with something like silky track pants but not actual track pants, kwim? But honestly I'd probably just toss on a dress and call it a day. If you wore leggings to work out you could probably in a pinch throw a dress over them and change shoes, but like I said above it doesn't solve the sweaty problem.)

As others have said, we need visuals of what you have in mind. Conceptually, I don't think that a Sporty Luxe style really has anything to do with workout gear that you've actually WORKED OUT in. It is a very
intentional look - rather than something where you just exchange your workout shoes for pumps or throw a blazer on over your tee after a workout. When people see someone dressed in sporty luxe their first thought shouldn't be "oh, she just got finished working out" - which is, what
I'm afraid they'd be thinking if I showed up for breakfast without taking a shower first! My other thought is that I'd probably feel pretty uncomfortable at a breakfast buffet post-workout and sweaty - especially if the other people there were dressed in business attire. I agree with Suz - better to work out a little earlier so that I have time for a shower!

i guess it depends on what you wear for your morning run/walk. i'd say, if you are wearing nike running gear, than almost nothing is going to make it sporty luxe. if you are wearing lulu or athleta loose yoga pants, i think these could be "luxed" up. but it would be a matter of what you wear with them.
i agree with suz, posting pictures or links/finds to what you are thinking would be great.

I think that luxe has to do with fabrication. Terry sweats aren't really luxe, even if they are made by Rag and Bone. I do think some of the gear can look good in regular outfits. But then, I love gear. I just don't love the giant logos. The bigger issue for me is that you may feel less than fresh if you skip the shower. Then you wont feel great no matter how killer your outfit.

Hmm. Do you have some visuals of what you have in mind? It's a bit difficult to say if it will work in the abstract. My hunch is that, no -- you won't do well just to put on heels with your workout gear.

Any way you can get up 15 minutes earlier to leave yourself time for the shower and change? That is what I would do!

Help me out here, scanning pinterest, etc. has me a bit confused.

I am thinking it may solve a problem for me, although if I do it I may feel strange. Going to convention with DH. His dress code says coat and tie, and most of the women will be in business attire, or casual business, but no jeans.

I will not be in the convention all day, but will go to the buffet breakfast with DH. I plan to go out prior for a morning run/walk wearing my workout pants with a sweatshirt, or hoodie as it will be cool. Will not have time to shower and change before breakfast, so If I change running shoes for pumps, add a dressy top and or cardi, or blazer will I just look stupid? After breakfast I will have all day to go shower and change into jeans and whatever for trip to alkatrez, and some shopping etc. Just this morning going to breakfast buffet where everyone will see my shoes, and all is a bit of a problem, and it will be for three mornings.

So is this sportie luxe 1. just mixing regular clothes an with athletic like wearing running shoes or sneakers with everything except maybe a ball gown, or 2. Just mixing it up like Angie's photos of athletic shorts or pants with heels and dressy tops, or 3. just mixing it all up?????
