Great! Thanks so much for the feedback. I think I'll give my brows a small tweeze before I go out next time, lol!

Ceit--I have tri-focals (or progressives.) I loved the glasses I have currently--they are the smallest i have ever worn and I will miss them...but the problem with small is that I have to tilt my head too far back to read (so I can see out the bottom.) So, thus, the need to go larger. You make a good point about the highest index, though going that route with the Tiffany's would have put them at about a thousand dollars.

lyn* nose and cheeks! I totally forgot to notice. I will next time.

Museumgal--a vote for red. Thanks. Looking at these now, I like the shape of these better, too.

Missvee--another vote for red!

Karie--yes, the blue ones are a bit too big. I get that, totally.

Marley--I prefer the blue colour too--and the overall shape, but you are right, my brows look far to bushy like this (though, I know, that's not what you said. That's how it looks to me, now.)

Ok. When I have more frames, I will update this post. Thanks everyone. I am curious to see if I can find a purple pair.

I am -9.75 and -10.25 --- I try for the smallest size lens and highest index possible. So far I am in single vision, but if I need to get progressives I am going to have to look at a larger frame.

I like these ones better than the other pair, but I am not sure either is perfect. I like the colour of the red ones, but the lens shape of the top of the first pair a titch better, but I agree with Marley that it would look better following the brow and not covering it.

I think that the blue color is a better color with your hair and skin-tone - very flattering on you! I don't really know much about how glasses should fit - but, in my inexpert opinion, I think that the shape of the blue ones are more flattering than the red ones - but the red frames hit you at a better place above your eyes. The blue ones are covering up your eyebrows (which I, personally don't like) - the red ones allow your eyebrows to still be seen - so . . . . there ya' go - I really have no idea! Sorry!

That is a strong prescription - mine is -7.5 and -5.5, and I can barely see my hand in front of my face w/o glasses or contacts. I do like the red frames better as I think the larger blue ones are a tad too big.

I like the red ones a lot. The colour and shape are great, and the size is big enough to have some "presence" but not so large that they overwhelm your face.

I think the red ones are fab on you. The other pair, I think they're too large b/c you can see all of your eyebrows through the lenses, while the red ones sit so that your eyebrows are more even and slightly above the the frames.

I know finding glasses is a hassle (because I'm struggling myself right now); I think I like the colour of #2, but the angle of the frames in #1 - I'm no help. Haha.

Also; do they sit comfy on your nose or on your cheeks? I struggle with this a lot - and if they bounce on my cheeks, then I either get zits or my glasses slide off by the end of the day.

Also; -9!!!! I'm a -6 and a -7 and people make "HAHA blind" jokes at me all the time :p

So exciting!
I returned the black Tiffany's. I was terribly nervous, as I'd mislaid the receipt, but they were very kind and there was no problem.

So, I tried out Angie's suggestions for coloured frames: she recommended purple, deep red and blue in this thread. (You can also my current glasses and the ones I have now returned in that post.)

Here are contenders from Lenscrafter's. I tried on quite a number of pairs and with the sales girl's help narrowed it down to these two. I realise I should have included a side or 3/4 view, but I didn't think of it in the shop. The salesgirl who helped me kindly took the pictures. But, rest assured, as per Angie's suggestion, the temples are not thin.

1. These are blue, from Coach
2. These are red, from Vogue. They have a beige inner frame which will help with the white edge that will be inevitably created by the thickness of my lenses.

(My prescription is about -9 for those who know about these things, so my eyes look small and the larger the frames, the thicker the lens at the edges.)

What do you think? Have I found my pair already or do I need to keep looking?
