If you choose a colour a little closer to your skin tone - you could wear them with just about any thing. (Click back to my outfits that I linked to on yesterday morning's post for visuals).

I think these would be fab in your wardrobe! I'm guessing you dress a little more casually in the summer? I think a low contrast, high vamp shoe can "ground" a summer look. I have, well, powerful legs and this kind of shoe balances them better than some of the more delicate choices or athletic shoes like Cons.

They can work well also with skirts and dresses in the nude color!
I wear the black ones during the winter with skirts and dresses but I go for a black hose to elogate the leg!

Thanks, all. That helps a lot - it's all about creating a longer leg line, so in winter, they would have to be dark with dark hose, but in summer they should be skin toned. I think I got it!

Sarah I agree with Elisabeth. I would only add that you could also wear these with a skirt that comes 2 to 3 inches below the knee also. I love these shoes.

High vamp shoes in a colour close to your skin tone vs. high vamp shoes in a high contrast colour are two different animals. You can get away with a lot more with low-contrast shoes. Those cute shoes you've posted there are pretty low-contrast, and I think they'd go with a lot. If they were mine I'd wear them with clamdiggers, skinny jeans, bootcut jeans, and skirts that end at or above the knee. They'd probably even go with shorts.

In my experience, you really only *need* low vamp shoes if you're wearing longer skirts. High vamp shoes can visually shorten your legs with a skirt that ends below the knee. Othewise you're fine.

LOL! IDK either. I think high vamp shoes work well with shorts and clams when you have a long leg line and/or the shoe is low contrast with your skin tone. I think these would work for you. I can picture them with walking shorts, skinnies and your navy Target shirt dress. Gorgeous shoes, btw!

OK, I'm so confused about vamps that I thought I'd just go ahead and start a thread, since I know all of you wise ladies will clear things up for me. I've been eyeing these Pikolinos shoes (or similar ones) since last season, because I think they look very cool. But I'm uncertain as to how versatile they'd be, especially with their higher vamp. What could I wear these with? Would I be limited to skinnies? Or could I wear them with more than that? Would I be better off going with a conventional (ie, uncovered) sandal, since I live in bermudas, clams, and dresses in the summer?

Thanks for helping me achieve some clarity regarding vamps and covered sandals! (How timely that Angie posted on both of those topics on the same day)
