If you try them and love them, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about the price if you can afford them and love them. (The thought of having shoes that $$ gives me palpitations, but if I had a bigger budget, who knows?)<br />Another thought: at that price, they will most likely be on sale at some point. I've kept reasonable records of the costs of all my shoes since about 2009. I still have the occasional pair older (one pair black booties from 1996 still good, one cheap gold sandals from 2008 etc), but on the whole they are all under 10 years. So I've just added the main list. 24 summer pairs including the 2 new ones from last week, total $1302.<br /> 22 winter pairs total $ 4316, includes one pair tall boots $ 359, one stripey booties $ 300, one cobalt patent booties $ 320, and 3 pairs at or close to $ 200. Average cost across 46 pairs for all 4 seasons is $ 93.82 per pair. This feels correct too, as many pairs have been on sale, only a few really cheap brands, most pretty good brands that I'm just good at hunting out bargains in shoes that suit me and that I like. So many of those are well under the $ 100.<br /> So thoughts about that: obviously I don't need 46 pairs. I had more and have been trying hard to cull over our summer while on purchasing fast. For you, could you get away with a lot fewer pairs? And therefore could the average cost be a lot higher?<br /> What would scare me I think about paying that much is the need to look after them. Even my most expensive tall boots with amazing buttons all down the front got scraped when my best friend's scarf slipped off her neck and caught under my foot and caused me to fall - luckily not hurt and only some scraped buttons, not really noticeable to anyone but me, I still wear them. Those beautiful white sandals might be really hard to keep looking perfect. And aren't there an awful lot of nice white sandals in the world, really?
