I think I could hack with confidence. They're *almost* a slim boyfriend fit, and I now have some ease in the thigh, so I think they'd be fine as shorts. Hmmm. And I'm definitely thinking that if I decide to cut, I would start with a very conservative cut first -- maybe just below the knee so I can roll them up to a bermuda short length -- before going any further. I would not want them shorter than a 5-6" inseam, and would likely want to leave them longer than that. Believe me, I will avoid "sausage-y" being applied to my legs at any cost! </p> <p>I'll have to try them on again and give it some good thought. I've hacked a lot of shorts from jeans, and it can be tricky with leg fit. I realize there's not much summer left, but I think this trend will continue into next year -- don't you think? The last time I had patterned denim shorts, I wore and loved them for years, regardless of the trends. </p> <p>I actually like these even just rolled a little bit up my leg to a crop length, too. But I think I might wear them more in the summer if they're cut off into shorts. They're a little big on me, but that's ok, since I don't mind my denim shorts with some ease and slouch these days (cooler in the heat). </p> <p>They're not my usual colors, but I figure I'd mainly be wearing them with a white tee or a chambray shirt. </p> <p>What do you think? Good plan to hack? </p>
