The fit is lovely here especially at the waist and for the length. The lace option doesn't nip in at the waist as nicely and is a little longer, it looks more like it just hangs straight down. For myself, I am not a big fan of an all lace dress. Just my opinion. The velvet is perfectly wintry and fits you a little better in the shoulders and torso. I would suggest a metallic shoe rather than nude if you have such a thing in your closet. The velvet fabric and slightly longer sleeves are appealing for January, though I feel like the lace is more seasonally versatile and husband likes it a little better.
