Interestingly, many times religion (or at least religiosity), attitude toward authority, preferred music and car brands, pet ownership, alcohol consumption (as well as types and brands of alcohol), and even entertainment preferences can also indicate political leanings. In light of things like this, it is easier to understand why mere political discussion or argument does very little to change a person's mind, regardless of which side of the aisle they prefer.&nbsp;</p> <p>Interestingly, DH took the quiz and it told him his brain leaned heavily Democratic. He was surprised because although he has voted Democratic for the last number of elections, he considers himself Republican. In his mind, he sees the "disgust" factor as it applies to blue collar vs white collar. He says that the farmers he works with have a very high threshold for feeling disgust because they work with animals and the land and all the things that go with it on a daily basis. They aren't squeamish people, but they are strongly conservative.
