I saw Brian Setzer perform Saturday night, and WOW, he looks amazing in person! But even better than how he looks, is how very good his voice is! No sounds of strain, or of age, or fatigue

In an entertainment industry where American Idol stars sing for two years, then have to have vocal cord surgery, or Grammy winners who are still in their twenties, having to take off a couple of years while they do botox/complete silence... here is a man who has serious technique, and you can hear it in his pipes :)

And don't even get me started on his mad guitar skills It was an incredible show. Even better than last year!

Wasn't that a fun trip down memory lane? I mean, Shriekback, Propaganda! I haven't thought of them in a long while. I heard Kraftwerk is playing some shows in the US, which would be fun. And David Sylvian is still one of my favorites for rainy-day music.

I saw Laurie Anderson last year and thought she looked amazing. I can't help but think of all she must be going though now, after losing Lou.

My random musings...

Nik Heyward is a cutie. Elvis Costello never changes. I will always love Chrissy Hynde. Rik Okasik and the boys in the Cars are looking sharp. Tears for Fears are looking great -- always loved them. Bryan Ferry will always be the suavest -- I got to see the Roxy Music reunion tour some years back and absolutely loved it. Love Thomas Dolby's steampunk gear. Am I the only one who though Howard Jones looked like John Lithgow? And Paul Young reminds me of Ricky Gervais. I love that Kate Pierson (B52s) always looks like she is having fun!

Digging Morrissey's stripey jacket. Love that picture of Yello. Go-Go's, Grace Jones, Bangles and Bananarama look amazing. I don't think that's a great picture of Cyndi Lauper -- I saw her on an episode of Celebrity Apprentice and thought she looked awesome. And Aimee Mann looks great too -- I will always love her. She sealed that deal by appearing on an episode of Portlandia. I love Siouxsie unabashedly too. The Police and U2 are ageless, aren't they.

Angie, I always thought John Taylor was the cutest. He still looks HOT.

And David Bowie and David Byrne will always be king of my world.

Wow, I had not thought of Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Scritti Politti or Information Society in years. I have their albums (and many of the others listed here)... in vinyl.

Leaving aside who I actually liked, Morrissey looks fabulous, as does Grace Jones. Dave Gahan looks great, and so do Al Jourgensen and Bob Geldof. Sting and Bowie are timeless, IMO, and will never look "old", much like Keith Richards to me.

The Cure, Adam Ant, Pete Burns and Nina Hagen make me sad. Adam Ant and Pete Burns were ridiculously handsome in their youth.

Billy Idol may look okay in that photo, but seeing him live makes you realize that he looks a little scary now.

Thank you so much for this link, Janet! So many memories! Regardless of how they look, I wish all the best to each and every artist on this list.

thanks for the link! Im with Angie on this one for loving tears for fears and depeche mode! & I was so sad to have missed Annie Lennox play at Seattle's Bumbershoot music festival in the early 80s. She is still incredible!

My DH records the VH1 "120 minutes" and we watch them in the evening, some of the videos are so great! & others are just so cheesy , it interesting to see how the art of music videos has changed, and of course the fashion!

In my very biased opinion, I vote Tears for Fears, Duran Duran, The Police, U2, Depeche Mode, Bryan Ferry, and Midge Ure look best. They also happen to be my favourite bands from this bunch - so like I said, I'm very biased. I actually took a double take with Tears for Fears. Good grief, those boys look incredible. Pushing 50 or over 50.

David Bowie, Billy Idol and Annie Lennox look sensational, but I was not a devoted fan of their music.

Also SO fun to see Nik Kershaw, Nick Hayward, Holly Johnson and Howard Jones. Loved their music too.

Sublimely fun browsing through those pics. Thanks, Janet. I love the ‘80s.

Wow. I mean wow. Annie looks great. Deborah not too shabby. Terri Nunn of Berlin looks amazing when I saw her in concert a few years ago. Bananarama and Go-Gos. Bowie is KING.

Thanks for the link. I just "totally" reminisced.
