I'm so sorry - how upsetting!</p> <p>I've had the zipper base (the fabric the zipper is seated on - I dunno if there is a better name for it?)&nbsp;fall apart on&nbsp;my favourite boots, and I consider myself very lucky that a local cobbler replaces zippers. They are full-length zips, running from the instep all the way up.&nbsp;Having said that - I called about a dozen (!!) cobblers before finding one that would do, and it wasn't cheap; it cost $40 per boot to replace because a) he hates replacing zippers and b) no one else will do it, so he can.&nbsp;</p> <p>As another option, I often save searches on eBay, so I can be notified when favoured styles pop up. Mine happened to split today; which is incredibly annoying because we just got 10 cm of snow, so I have wet toes and broken boots! :(</p> <p>I am sad because they are my favourite comfy Doc Martens!!! *CRY* and they don't make them anymore so I can't go out and just buy another pair. Even eBay doesn't have any!!!</p> <p>*sob* </p>
