If you have no need for the SYC anymore, that's totally your decision. It seems like you achieved the goal you set out to achieve with the SYC. I think it's amazingly commendable that you set aside your own shopping to help your father out! </p> <p>I think a lot of SYC or SYB are born out of ideas like I posted about above, but maybe that was not particularly your goal. So I try to encourage not breaking a SYC for those reasons. Which I did. I'm not saying I was perfect. But I did cut back immensely on my spending. From the beginning of October until Christmas I only bought two items. I too am going to implement some rules for myself soon, and post it here to be accountable. I think honestly, there will always be sales there to ruin any shopping ban efforts. It's too easy to say, "we'll it's just the semi annual sale" or any other kind of excuse. Sorry, I'm not trying to be harsh, just honest, and truely if you don't want to do a SYC then don't do it, but if you do, then I think you should stick to it. I think there's a lot to be gained, and I want to make my own post about that later.
