I absolutely adore this colour and neckline on you, Nancy. The puff factor does not bother me as much as the high front but that can be easily cured by wearing a black cami underneath like some of the memebers suggested above.
But like Ceit said, you have to wear it and be comfortable in it. Also, due to high price point, you must love this sweater enough to become a part of your wardrobe. So at this point, i think just give it some time and see how it feels after a few days. These decisions are never easy.

Just breathe. Don't cut the tags; ponder awhile. Pants color cami is a must, I think. I also like the previous suggestion of trying with a slight bootcut pant. If it still doesn't feel right to you, don't fret about its being a missed opportunity, as you will find something else. I'm not trying at all to discourage this sweater, but to say I'm making as much progress by what I don't buy, if I'm not really sure about it myself, as from what I buy, and from down- regulating that pressure to make something work.

I still love it, and I think the high front counteracts the volume nicely and brings the eye inward. A straight-across cut maybe would have done what you fear, but this is very nice!

I think you should try to take a quick video of yourself in it. I'm guessing that it looks different in motion that just a picture. Everyone who loves it is probably envisioning the movement while you're just seeing the static silhouette. Just a guess. :)

My only concern (aside for the price of course) is the length in front as you styled it. Is cami tucked into jeans or untucked? Try to add belt and either tuck in the cami or change it for a black one: I think this piece of light grey throws off the proportions a bit.

You need to feel great in it and your continued questions seems like you are trying to0 hard to learn to like it. I think if after taking all these pics , if you still aren't sold on the look... It's time to find something else... Then again in all fairness, I don't like this silhoette on myself despite trying it so keep that in mind regarding my answer.

I think it looks much nicer here worn with the column of black, especially those killer boots - wow! But I do see what you mean about the puff factor. Clearly that doesn't bother Angie, so I guess it all comes down to how *you* feel about it. Good thing about Nordie's return policy - you can keep it for a while before you have to make a final decision.

I love this sweater on you - The only thing that I might try (if/when I copy you and get this exact same sweater!) is to wear a black cami with the black pants and this sweater. Generally, I do like the 'pop of colour' concept of a different coloured layering camisole, but not necessarily on me in that spot (at the waist etc.). It reminds me a little bit of "grinning" where the camisole isn't long enough to match with say, a longer sheer tunic/blouse.

With this sweater, I'd pair a camisole of the same colour as my bottom piece, due to the high-low factor of the sweater.

That said, this sweater is FABULOUS on you, imo I like it so much (after seeing it on you) that it's on my list to try once the sale opens up to the general public.

I love the color on you. I also am always hesitant with boxier or "fluid" styles like this but I have to agree with the others that this does look really quite nice on you. The short hem in front makes me pause though. I think it's because I live where it is so warm that I could never imagine wearing a cami or top under a sweater. And I just don't love layering, except for jackets. I bought a boxier style top recently myself and I haven't yet removed the tags. I am more of a rectangle and I'm not used to wearing things that are not at least a little tailored or skimming the body. But I love the color and pattern and style on it. So I can relate to the dilemma.

I find that sometimes my instincts are dead on right and I simply won't wear the item in question, but there have been times when I was wrong and I ended up loving the item. Even different days can make me change my mind on something. I'd try it a few more times on different days. Maybe even scout similar items in the same color but slightly different style - and then make the final call. I'm seeing a lot of this brilliant blue on the racks in various places at many price points. You should be able to find a few to compare with this one.

My 2 cents (so, 4 in total with yesterday's input :-D): the things I love still are the color, the color ON YOU and the neckline.
But, I also get the idea why you're worried about the dumpling (LOL) effect. Everything about the top is round - it's main shape, the neckline, even the hem... so there is a lot of roundness, which obviously is an issue for you.

How about different type of bottoms, you had more flared jeans yesterday, would that add more angles which may in return balance things out?

If I remember correctly, you said yesterday you'd hate if moths ate it in the wardrobe. I say if you need so much to warm up to the sweater, return it. It's not the only sweater in the world. You've already learnt that this is the color to go for and the neckline to go for, which for me is great to take forward in itself. And from my own experience, returning something fabulous can actually be quite a confidence boost as well.

Nancy I think the problem might be the grey top under the sweater, because it's only showing as a little oval in front which might suggest a tummy pooch. Try a black cami!

I do think the sweater is gorgeous on you.

On the contrary, I think this silhouette deemphasizes your apple tendencies. You look more apple-y with your fitted tops ( not like it is a bad thing). I like it with the white tank underneath. It looks good, it's cashmere, great color, I'm sold.

I have to run, but logged in just to add my two cents, because I saw yesterday that you were having doubts about this sweater Nancy. Not sure if it helps, but I immediately loved it on you: the blue is stunning, I think it is very flattering with the high-low hemline (the neckline too), it drapes beautifully. I actually think it lengthens the torso because it is a little shorter in front and you then see a cami peeking out from under the jumper. Plus: it has a playful, cheeky feel to it that I feel really suits you. Also: it looks fab with these trousers and the tall boots.

In short: I'm a fan:-)

This is the first time I've experienced such hesitancy even after getting a K rating from Angie. I'm styling this as best as I can at the moment. I'm worried that this sweater just emphasizes every apple and short torso tendency and makes me look like a dumpling. I know it's fluid but it just seems to puff out around the waist area, you know?

It's also cut short in the front, which must be intentional, but as you can see I will need to wear a cami or something under it. Which isn't a big deal.

I absolutely love the color. I love the neckline. I love that it's fluid and not conventionally structured. Of course, I love that it's cashmere. I realize that there are unconventional ways to look good, but I don't want to look bad.

Many thanks in advance.
