Is it truly straight up and down in that the hip is not substantially wider than the waist? I don't mind a loose fit in the waist so long as there is movement in the hip area, but this is a tall order as my hips are probably 1-2 sizes bigger than my upper body. I bought a small, I am a 34D in the bust and usually size 6-8 in tops. It's pretty straight, not tailored around the waistline at all. The color I got (plum) is a bit muted, and I suspect this is true of most the colors.
