Smudge is allowed to come and go as he pleases and always comes back (except for once when they let him out before catching a ferry and he didn't come back in time so they left without him! But they were so worried they sailed back the next day! We call him the Fleetwood flee-er) but precious girl Poppy has to stay in and is only allowed to go out on a harness! Already I can't bear the thought of having to leave him so we are planning to take him with us on a cat friendly holiday for a few days in May rather than put him in a cattery.
