Have you tried ordering the Pilcro's in a petite? I am sure I've seen petite Pilcro's on the anthro site.... at 5'0 most petite jeans are still too long for me, but you are 5" taller so this might be just the ticket for you?

Lisa - I have some navy patent platform loafers too, and don't get a big-feet vibe from them. I'm an 8 - very average. Plus I no longer care If anything these new Western boots make one's foot look extra big - that I did notice right away. But again, whatever.

Angie, I could, in my sales life, and maybe I will. I still haven't had an opportunity to sit down and try on any yet. Anything at retail here is on the low-end side and not great-looking. We'll see Really not a priority at this time. And for the jeans find - it's the store's own "label". (Melanie Lyne The Super Soft Slim. )

YES, the Finds you posted are working, thank you, Lisa. I was going to try to find your new jeans from somewhere that is finds-friendly, IYKWIM. Like Amazon, maybe.

You've lost weight so that's why you're hiking up the Pilcros! That said, I had both of my pairs adjusted at the waist so they stay put.

Thanks for the loafer info. I LOVE a semi sturdy and supportive classic loafer. They work for my feet, lifestyle, climate and style. I have tried to make the Gucci loafers work, but can't for the life of me get them to fit...

You were sensible to get BLACK booties. Can you though, wear white booties to work?

I like those loafers a lot, Lisa. I'd had the idea of a navy shiny or croc loafer in mind for a while, but never ordered because I worry they would make my big feet look too manly.

Hi Angie - I have 2 other pair of Pilcro jeans in my collection: both the original cropped flares from a few years back. I quite like them, but they are indeed pretty stretchy , which isn't always great. I spend most of my time hiking them up I have the finds here on this post - are they not working for you? The high rise skinnies are not find-friendly as they aren't a brand name or from a store the the find feature works for - thus the custom find. Re hemming the long flares, there literally was 6 inches that would have had to come off, leaving little of the button placket. Just not worth it . I found this with GAP flares too. And again, it's not like I'm THAT short !

I sure do like loafers and have several pairs. These fake Guccis are incredibly soft and comfortable, albeit with zero support. Like a slipper. Brown's makes them in black, silver and navy, and also in a mule version . I bought these this past summer and wear them quite frequently.

Refreshing footwear - thanks for liking these little cheapies. They will serve the purpose until I decide if I want to upgrade to a better pair. Coloured boots (red or white) would be cool to own and much more interesting , but won't get much wear given my work/life lifestyle and current wardrobe.

Lisa, happy you had a fun shopping day and found JEANS of all things :)

FABULOUS shopping outfit. Nice to see navy. Those Browns loafers look just like the Guccis. LOVE them. And I must have dreamt it because I thought you didn't like loafers?

I want to see the new jeans! High waisted skinnies are on trend so there you go. You did it. Are you wearing them with the new booties? If you tell me the EXACT description and brand, I'll try to find the Find.

I love Pilcro, and so do my clients. I bought two pairs in Spring and Summer and wore them all the time. They are making those lengths too long though. Most people are hemming.

YES to the Frye-esque boots. If you're going to refresh your bootie style with black boots - the Western look is an effective way to go. Nicely done.

i've found that it pays to never shop for jeans....when i set out to find jeans what i find it not what i am looking for and OMG these look awful...when i'm not looking i find wow these are different and trendy and on sale.....which is how i have found my all my trendy denim, (including my button fronts)
love your shopping outfit, but of course you had me at navy....i love the idea of a peplum blouse under a leather jacket, nice mix of hard and soft....
and yay for finding a great pair of jeans! for me, these have a subtle 70s feel mixed with a totally contemporary feel, looking foward to seeing them in action....and love the booties, like you i'm very fussy about my lower end footwear. i'm also craving some cowboy/western inspired booties, but so far only finding them at the higher end and trying to decide if i should pull the trigger.

Those button detail flares are tempting, but I really don’t need any more flares right now (making do with my old lower rises since I tend to cover the fly anyway). Unless something great comes out in a darker wash. :-)

You look great in your shopping outfit too.

Hey, fantastic! This is what I call a brilliant shopping expedition. Just the kind I like. I have also been wanting to check out the Pilcro jeans ever since Janet had luck with them, and a few others here. We have an Anthro here!!! (I can't get over how amazing it is to have B&M stores even if they only stock 1/10 the stuff that is online!) I went the other day, but guess what, they hardly had any of their own jeans. (They had other brands, but not their own. Go figure.)

Your shopping outfit looks "French girl urban cool." And the new boots and jeans look terrific. I have been really curious about this Design Lab stuff -- it looks higher quality than their old house brand and also trendier.

I get annoyed at Anthro too. Even here in a big market, the stuff I want to see in person is never in the store.

Sorry for two posts this week. No more after this I had a day off today - with no one asking me where I was going and what I was doing = bliss. Off to the mall to check out a few things , which included these boots I've been eyeing . Cheapies from a Hudson Bay label, and reduced 30% during Bay Days, or whatever the heck it's called now. I'm pretty careful about lower end footwear, and they have to tick off ALL of the boxes to make it into my closet, and these did. Great construction and details, superb fit, comfort, and most of all - not cheap looking. Yes, call me a shoe snob. Anyways, it's funny how the eye takes some time to warm up to a look, and mine definitely did in this case. The slant-heel, pointed toe boot hadn't been "in vogue" for a few years and I was still wary of the heel earlier this year (it reminded me too much of the old Rag& Bone Pistols, which I got rid of a few years ago ) . But I'm full-on into it now, thanks to gryffin and her stunning new Frye boots (the real deal). S0 , feeling frisky and emboldened by scoring some great inexpensive trendy boots, off I went to Anthro to look for a "pretty " blouse of some sort. I had an idea in mind, which of course is the kiss of death for me (see Suz's interesting thread about workhorses and planned buying). But guess what I did get involved in ? JEANS. For anyone reading my comments over the past 3 months or so, finding trendier, interesting higher rise jeans that aren't premium priced has not been happening in my apparently backwater city. So - to further my theory that I find the best things when I'm not even looking - I tried on a couple of pair of Pilcro styles. (when I went to the Anthro website to do the find, I almost cried. The store here in Winnipeg had maybe 10 % of the styles shown on line ). Pilcro here isn't a bad price ($150 Can) and even though I'd rather have spent half of that, I threw down the plastic anyways. These are so great on ! Side zip and high-waisted with a nice amount of stretch and softness in the denim provides that nice girdling effect and make me feel about 10 lbs lighter than I am. I justified the price with the interesting details :pockets, seaming, etc. The button-fly Pilcro crop flares ( I think kkards bought them?) were great, but I think you need to be very flat stomached and thin to wear that look - it's a pretty vast expanse of denim covered belly to expose- plus buttons = a pain in the neck. The button bottom flares were gorgeous, but at minimum 6 inches too long. What is up with that? I am a very average height - 5'5", although maybe they expect someone my height to be wearing a size 0, which had a better length. The size 29's were so long, I'd lose most of the button/placket detail with hemming. My last stop - still on the hunt for a "pretty" top to wear with a blazer yielded these jeans - high waisted soft slims (really a nice relaxed skinny in a dark wash ). Cheap too They were from one of those horrible mall chain stores we have in Canada that are full of jersey printed tops and polyester pants. But once in awhile.....

Oh, and one last thought: if one believed in the tri-fold mirror in the Anthro fitting room area, one would never be seen in public again. Don't you want to make people look and feel good about themselves? Yikes, it was brutal.

Today's outfit for shopping: navy back zip pleated peplum blouse, old GAP skinnies, navy leather Michael Kors jacket ( 3 years old and finally fits perfectly = embarrassing) , plus Browns navy /gold bit loafer. Didn't like the jewellery = a bit 80's shiny, but it was an experiment .
