And again, thank you so much for your help and advice while I was planning the trip. I didn't take many photos once we got to South Africa because I was trying to give Jamie a break from me clicking my camera all the time, and that's fine. I got some snapshots with my phone and enjoyed the time with him tremendously. One of the best things a photographer can so sometimes is put down the camera and just *experience*!&nbsp;</p> <p>Cape Town and the surrounding area is such a special place. And we were floored by how affordable it is to eat, drink and shop there with the current exchange rates. A glass of really nice wine with a meal in a restaurant is like $3-4 US, and the same thing would easily be $15 in a nice DC or Baltimore restaurant. Our time in Africa was simply amazing, and the experience at Mfuwe Lodge and the bush camps in South Luangwa National Park were incredible. Abundant wildlife, wonderful travel companions, friendly hosts and locals, terrific food and hospitality... I can't say enough good things about it!</p> <p>These are some photos taken with my "real" camera -- I was working with a new 150-600mm lens (to get good shots from a distance), much different from what I usually use since I'm often working at a close distance to photograph small subjects. But I'm quite happy with much of what I got.&nbsp; </p>
