I much prefer bringing DH along on that sort of trip so I can have a break once in a while.&nbsp;</p> <p>Pretty much all my travel is "style-free" because DH and I are backpackers first and foremost. We rarely do city-trips except to visit friends and family, and usually we tack that onto a hiking trip. I quite often build my travel capsules around my hiking clothes, and have been buying somewhat nicer gear in recognition of that fact. I can't wait to visit there someday.&nbsp;</p> <p>I can totally relate. I just got home a couple of days ago from a week in the desert southwest, and I looked like crap all week long and didn't care. Many of my trips are solo travels for the purposes of hiking and photographing, and I end up camping a lot. I basically live in gear all week, put my hair back in a ponytail and wear a goofy hat, and never put on makeup until it's time to come home. I love it. It's a total break from worrying about how I look. Except for one casual dress, I brought nothing but gear: Exercise tights, tshirts, sneakers, and hiking shoes. I brought moisturizer and sunscreen but no makeup. I loved every minute of it. It was incredibly freeing and allowed me to focus on the beauty around me. Tasmania is infamous for bad weather. Consequently I had a limited and very practical travel capsule. &nbsp;I deliberately decided not to think much about style on this trip. &nbsp;I even wore my hubbies tee-shirt, track pants and runners for a whole day! In public!<br />And guess what? I had a fabulous time! It was liberating just to put fashion aside for a bit. In the past I have always had trouble "letting go" and sartorially relaxing in situations like this.&nbsp;<br />Now I am home and ready for style again! Can't wait to put together some fun outfits.<br />Can anyone relate to the benefit of taking a "style free holiday"? </p>
