Thanks all! Thank you for your support and your kind words. Thank you for reminding me of the good side of things too.
This will pass.
My old flame story sure made me cry my share, but I am getting over it. Work helps!

As for dressing, I still manage to do it with some style. My trick: I am surviving with a little notebook where I had written down many outfits in the past months. I then rate the outfit in terms of wear-ability and good feeling. Results are surprising, I suggest you try this method. It helped me discover new "favourite" ways to wear my clothes.

I have also decided to wear my hair longer, because after this, I need a change. It is now in its "awkward" phase. My hairdresser made it in a general bob shape, which is growing on me (quite literally!).

Krish, I'm so sorry life has been so challenging lately. I'll be thinking of you as you soldier on. All will be well in time, I'm sure, but it sure can be hard to keep your chin up when you just don't know where the road ends.

In the meantime, be kind to yourself and appreciate the small good things as much as possible.

So glad you updated us! I have been thinking of you. It must be such a disappointment that things didn't work out with the old flame -- yet, as you say, also a relief that you discovered the problems before you made the move. At least now you have your own source of income and friends. In a new city, imagine how lost you might have felt.

Your work life sounds incredibly busy and demanding. And you must miss your son, as well! As for the complications with your husband, I can well imagine. Argh!!!

Here is wishing that your life soon becomes as unwrinkled as a freshly pressed blouse!

Glad to have an update, Krish, and it sounds like you are moving forward, even though you have a lot on your plate. I'm a part-time University teacher, too --- in music. For me, since my income is a second income, and I have younger children who need me around, it still works, but I know what pace you need to keep to make it pay all the bills! I'm sure your students are growing and learning from your input.

Hope your YLF time is a bright spot in your day!

Krish, I wondered how you were doing, so I'm glad you gave us an update.

First off, I'm sorry it didn't work out with your old flame. It sounded so promising, and that must be a disappointment, but like you said, better to figure out these things (and have your eyes wide open to them!) now rather than after you uproot your life to commit to him!

You are one busy lady, and I'm sure all your efforts will pay off. It sounds like it will be a good thing when you and your ex-husband are able to part ways more definitively. I'm glad it's not awful being under the same roof with him! I know people who are miserable together and can't seem to part ways.

Best of luck to you!

Hi!
I just wanted to let you know why I haven't been active on the forum. It's not that I don't read you! I do, and I am just as passionate about clothes as I was. But I am going through an intense period at work as well as in personal life: teaching 7 classes this term in yet a new college doesn't leave much time for anything else. Also, my photographer, my son, has now gone off to prep college, living with family in a different city. I think I accepted all these classes to forget about him not being here! It's a great experience for him ans he loves it. But I do miss him!

Also, last summer I opened up here and told you about how I rekindled with an old flame from high school. At first it was a blast, and I thought I would move to Alberta with him. But I realized he really wasn't ready to share his life with someone. We had very opposite beliefs too. It didn't work out. Luckily, before I made the move.

However, things have been more than weird with my ex-husband, with whom I still live for lack of time to move out and also because of my current job instability. I want to have a permanent position before I sign for a lease on my own somewhere. Rents are just so high here. So I pay rent to him and things go generally well, actually, generally better than when we were still a couple. We even dine out together, which we had stopped doing. Except when he gets angry. He then says I have no rights and that I shouldn't feel at home. This is intolerable to me, of course, as you can imagine. He always says he's sorry afterwards, but still. I am not comfortable in this position. It's another reason why I work so hard now.

So with all this on my plate, it's hard even to keep up with my own blog. Please excuse my silence. Know that I am there lurking though, I love this site and you guys too much!

Cheers,

Krish
