Suz, True fit says I'm a size 2 in the gillet. Based on the size 6 I tried on, I might be a 4 but I don't think the 2 would fit at all.

KL, Truefit told me to order the O, so I did, but I think I will need the 2 at least. So I'll give the SA a call and change it.

@Suz: You might be all right with the size 2, unless you're aiming for a fluid look. I think we're around the same size and I probably would have purchased the size 2 since I can't imagine wearing it buttoned. The most fitted spots were in the waist, where I tend to gain weight, and in the shoulder/back width where I'm a true size 2 and it felt just a smidge small.

Thanks for the review, I've been wondering about those Trouve sweaters. Especially the red-ish color one I see online.

Hmm, I was thinking of buying the Rag and Bone dres in Burgundy, but now I am not sure if they will fit me well. I have a slim waist but big hips and thighs, and I found that the 25 (in a different style) fit like a skinny jean rather a boyfriend jean. Hopefully the cut of the burgundy is different!

Thanks for your detailed review!

Thank you for your reviews! I really find them extremely helpful. I can't fit the Dre jeans either and I'm a pear. You described the exact problem I have with them. And I agree about the R&B Faye Vest or Gillet, runs small. (Suz, if you're reading this, I tried on a 6 and I'm pretty sure that would be my size. But, if I was considering it for purchase I would have also tried the 4 just to be sure.) I hope your sweater works out.

Good to hear about what you ruled in or out and why, as well as your size observations. Those pieces are interesting and worth checking out. I also tried the Zero Grands last year and ruled them out, Despite liking the style, I felt the sole lacked support, making it neither a highly practical sneaker, nor an oxford. I generally do like Cole Haan shoes for my somewhat low volume feet. Like the tunic length sweater.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for these reviews, KL. It sounds like I'm going to have to try a size up in the vest (if I can get it). Hmm. I will call the SA and maybe change the order to that size.

I'm rectangle-with-a-booty too (more or less) but an earlier version of the Dres work really well on me. So funny, isn't it? However, mine are a completely different fabrication -- almost all cotton, whereas most of the newer ones include more stretch. I actually sized up on mine for a slightly slouchier fit (and because they barely stretch); from fit reports on the newer versions that would be a mistake. I hope I'll be happy with the ones I ordered.

I like your new flipflops!

@delurked: The flip-flops would definitely work as house slippers if you don't need your slippers to keep your feet warm--obviously they wouldn't do a good job at that! Excellent arch support and more stylish than crocs, IMHO. Re: sizing, maybe it's inconsistent at different parts of the size range (as is true for European to US size conversions)--I have very small feet, the larger foot only measures to a US 5.5 in length (and I wear a true size 35 in Euro shoes).

Thanks for the tip on Nordstrom Rack for Zerogrand styles. I will check them out!

Thanks - I will take a look at the flip flops. It's so interesting that many of the reviews said they sized down, but you went up. I am needing a pair of house shoes to replace some slippers. Do you think they might work for that?

I have a pair of silver zerogrand shoes they are metallic, not suede, as I figured that might be a little too precious for me in a tennis shoe. I see N. Rack has several in this style and others similar that are at a good markdown.

I have the R&B Dre coming to me in both the denim and the burgundy. I was already a bit worried about a large waist. But I didn't try them on last year during the sale, and I want to see how they work on me.

Great reviews, KL! I have a pair of those flip flops, and they are so comfy. I wear them at the pool, and I've found they aren't as waterproof as I expected--the colored layer is wearing off of mine (oops)! I think I've basically abused, er, over-appreciated them.

I stopped by my local Nordstrom, a smaller store in a well-to-do area, this afternoon after getting back from vacation. Tons of shoppers still and my size (on an extreme end of the size curve) was mostly sold out, so I'm glad I ordered online earlier in the week.

OluKai Ohana Sandal - I'd been eyeing these online as a more supportive replacement for old black flip-flops. Found them in-store to try on, which was good since I needed to size up. I have a 5/5.5/35 low-volume foot and the size 5 was too short, so I bought the size 6. Wore them out immediately to dinner and thumbs-up on the comfort level.

Cole Haan ZeroGrand Perforated Training Sneaker - My store had these in grey, navy, and black (no magenta). The perforation pattern definitely shows up best in grey. They are also like walking on clouds in terms of comfort and softness. But ultimately I passed (and ordered a different pair of New Balance sneakers online) because the perforations + suede make them impractical for rainy weather, and I'd mostly wear this kind of shoe for walking vacations where the weather forecast is uncertain.

Munro Abby Sandal - I was on the fence about ordering this style earlier, and deciding against it was the right move because I didn't like it too much on my foot. Nothing against the shoe, which is very comfortable and supportive--although it does run small, the size 5 was too short and the size 6 almost fit me--I just didn't like how covered my foot was and how little of my short toes showed in the peeptoe front.

Rag & Bone Faye Vest - Looked so fab on Angie that I had to try it on when I spotted a size 2 on the rack. It runs a bit small, I think--narrow, very tailored--and would be flattering for petites. Was too long on me at 5'2" but could be hemmed without ruining the proportions. Ultimately not my style, but I look forward to seeing it on Suz and any others who try it!

Rag & Bone The Dre Slim Fit Boyfriend Jeans - Tried in size 25 (one down from my TTS), darker wash. People keep raving about this style so I keep trying it, but I think it must not be match for my rectangle-with-a-booty body type. I would have needed to size down again to a 24 due to lots of room in the waist, but then the legs would fit like a skinny jean on my average 14" calves.

Trouve Side Slit Sweater - I've been looking for a long-sleeved tunic replacement for a while, albeit not very hard. This sweater is REALLY soft even though it's made from an unholy material mix. I hope it won't pill. I tried XS and S in the store, and sizing will be flexible depending on your fit preference--the S was a bit baggy but in an oversized way, the XS fit well except for extra length in the sleeves. I ordered XXS and XS from online to see if the XXS sleeves are any shorter, and since they didn't have my preferred colors (forest green or burgundy) in-store.
