I somehow don't feel this angst with the new year about style or professional or personal resolutions. Maybe my seizure got rid of a few neurons!</p> <p>But seriously I look upon 2012 and the amount I achieved. The biggest thing was buying for my size. not my fantasy size. learning that because of crotch issues I need a larger trouser or shorts size, but 2 sizes smaller in skinnies because of stretch factor and narrow buttocks. I think there is nary a garment in my closet I don't love and I purge monthly. My light almost blush boots have been really hard to bookend and they are going to consignment or goodwill ( some scuffing). But I don't regret the experiment. After all the only thing that is constant is change. If I don't feel happy or satisifed in my mind with a garment then its not for me. Even on my worst days these last few weeks I've worn jeans and a button down with sweater and earrings- albeit my small gold hoops ( comfort factor, first jewelry I ever bought with my own money.)</p> <p>I look at all the regulars over the last year and see the same thing- how much you all have individually achieved- becoming more confident in what your style is and wearing wiw's with happiness and panache.I admire someone like Rita who says that her wardrobe is so much where she wants it to be and not much tempts her these days except the occasional statement buy. That's how I'm feeling more and more about my own wardrobe. skirts, skinnies, trousers, slouchies, widelegs: got you covered. button downs, silk shirts, base layers, lace and shine: got you covered. 'pop' colors" got a few of those.lots and lots of jackets were added in 2012, a few sweaters too. cardis mostly got the boot except for a few. statement earrings: aplenty. My wardrobe is a happy place. If there's one thing I would want to do more of its changing my bags more often because I do have a pretty good collection that remains mostly hidden in a closet as of now!</p> <p>Kari started a beautiful discussion recently about fashion and home decor and it really hit home for me: my hous is truly eclectic. There is the modern japanese themed room minimalistic yet with outstanding artwork. The formal dining room with elements of the regency period in India. Art curated and collected from artists from around the world. My style is the same: I love anything and everything that is created with love. I wish that we had more bespoke availability, less dependence on Chinese production. I would love to buy more garments that are handcrafted or partially handcrafted. My Indian wardrobe does give me the opportunity to admire such items: painstakingly handcrafted: a stitch at a time.</p> <p>You are the canvas upon which I sprinkle my colors: sometimes you tell me my 'art' needs a tweak here or there and miraculously it all 'fits' just so. The vibrant coral reef of YLF with Angie, Greg and our furry friends keep this place so full of energy, interest, uptodate and warmth: this is where I begin and end my day.</p> <p>You have all each and every one of you accomplished so much, enjoy what 2012 brought you and onwards and upwards in 2013!</p> <p>We are all each and every one of us fab and our fabness factor can only increase!! </p>
