Thanks! OK, I will stick to my regular underwear size. If Soma is bigger than VS, then a M will definitely work. I'm planning on getting one of the brief styles with a lot of back coverage anyway.

Parsley, yes, the Shimeras did not work for me. I have 2 pairs in different sizes and they were all too small in back and too big in front. I also tried the laser-cut elastic-free type (2 brands, CK and Uniqlo) which are super comfy and don't give me wedgies, but the sides scrunch up on me because there is nothing holding them down.

I am planning on getting the high leg briefs in the Vanishing edge, so hopefully the leg openings will be larger/less tight with the silicone.

They have buy 3 get 2 free right now... so I thought I'd try a couple of vanishing edge pairs and some of their regular ones as well... I am kind of dissatisfied with my old standby Gap hipsters lately (they still fit well, but the new fabric falls apart so fast) so I'm looking for different options.
Just an FYI: the Soma vanishing edge underwear has silicone strips along the edges to keep it from slipping, and while it does work, I absolutely HATE how it feels! Obviously lots of people aren't bothered by it, but I wouldn't buy too many pairs before you decide whether you like them. I much prefer my Shimera panties (but do I remember that you didn't like them?). Did you try more than one style? They absolutely do not show under clothes, either.

I wear exclusively Soma vanishing edge and I would say they run on the generous side or true to size. Not small in my experience! Gap/VS runs smaller than Soma, for sure.

So I'm still looking for good seamless underwear for my wedding dress and other chiffon dresses. Angie suggested I try the Soma vanishing edge underwear. There is no Soma store near me so I will have to order online. I was wondering if I could get some sizing advice. How do they compare to VS or gap underwear? I tend to size down in underwear so long as it is cut with a generous back coverage since if I follow the size chart the front part is always too big. However, I've read that you should size up for the vanishing edge because they run small and you don't want indentations. I am specifically thinking about the high-leg briefs if that matters.

I thought I might also order some of their other underwear (non-vanishing edge but still supposed to be very light and no-show) to try also, so is the sizing for that different?
