I have this issue too. No real advice, although I tend to throw on scarves to fudge cleavage-y tops into being work-appropriate, but I definitely sympathize!

I used to have this problem too - but I have a different fix. I started working out more and so I sit with better posture, and the gap problem has gone away!

Are you very tall? Sometimes petite sizes are cut with higher necklines, because the clothes are made for people with short torsos. Maybe you could try on some petite tops and see how they fit.

If the top has shoulder seams, often you can just take it in there, which brings the neckline up. Alternatively, if the material is thin, you can take tiny tucks in the neckline. Another work around is a big necklace or scarf.

Ramya I have this problem as well. Since I started shopping more on-line about 4 years ago, I have many times had the problem of purchasing something that looks like it has a normal scoop neckline but when I receive the item it shows everything. My bra strap, my cleavage. The models have a lot more length in their torso and smaller bust lines so I am fooled as to how revealing the top actually is. Now I purchase tops with higher necklines. I have demoted many of these more revealing tops to sleepwear.

However if you have an item you don't want to demote, here are some suggestions.
-Purchase a bra with very deep profile. I have one from Natori and it is perfect for the lowest necklines.
- Alter the straps (especially do-able for tanks and spaghetti strap tops). Shorten them.
- Like you said, wear a cami underneath.

I think Angie has the same body type modifiers as you mention here ramya, and she swears by high necklines: turtlenecks, crew, slashed/boat and collars. Is your neck long like Angie's too? Even if it's not, you might want to try higher necklines in general.

Hi Ramya, do you have any photos to share? I am wondering what type of neckline this is happening with?

I have narrow shoulder and pretty bust. have major problem wit most of the top sagging a the neck and hence showing off cleavage. I tend to wear high cami to mitigate this.but I wonder am I buying stuff wrong?
Is there a solution for this?
