You won't regret it, it's magical.</p> <p>I HATE being sick when traveling, not so much for the losing vacation aspect but because it's so much harder than being at home where everything is comfortable, familiar, and more readily available. The last vacation we too this past New Years, I caught something nasty towards the end and of course passed it on to hubby shortly afterwards, so we spent our 2 days at the Grand Canyon sick as all get-out. I also looked cute, and hey I have to say that's a good enough pick-me-up on its own, isn't it?&nbsp;^^</p> <p>If your son appreciates commiseration stories, you can tell him a good one of mine: I used to get fairly panicky about flying because I have motion sickness. On our honeymoon we went to Maui, and on the way back they split our seats up... What a story. It sounds like a gruelling "holiday" but I am glad you survived it along with your amazing sense of humour. It's a shame about your son, but I understand absolutely. (Our daughter is not even officially on the spectrum, yet I remember the incredible screaming, writhing on the floor fits she had the first time we tried to take her through security to board a plane -- even though we had rehearsed it all ahead of time!
