The cognac leather would work but maybe would be too much brown? I know you said you were advised against the colored sofa but honestly I think a rich blue would be gorgeous. (But keep in mind I have a teal sofa.... Our current ikea fabric sofa has seen many disasters and it washes out beautifully. But it is hard to find sofas in slipcovered styles. Where do you fall on the ottomans vs coffee tables with kids?</p> <p>Beth - you are so fast! You just moved and you have your space set up. Would love to see photos.</p> <p>Summer and Ann- the leather is also DH's first choice and it looks even better in person. It comes with a hefty price tag though especially on this sofa because of the long cushions. I know many find leather very practical, but I generally prefer the cozy comfort of cloth. But looking at the weave of the swatches - I think you'd have an annoying problem with pet hair there. As for colour, I gravitate toward #5, but the reality maybe different from how it looks on my screen. Anyways, growing up, we had red and blue turkish carpets and lightish grey, modern sofas always.
