If you find the right ones, they may fit into your existing boots. They are a step warmer than the trouser socks. Packing for Florida last March, I couldn’t get it through my head that I wouldn’t want toppers there, and the first few times we went north for Christmas after moving to Florida, I had to do emergency shoe-shopping, because I left my warm footwear back at our place in Tampa. I tend to do my winter shopping in October, when I'm still wearing skirts and sandals!</p> <p>Generally I just wear boots too when I'm not in sandals. I just wear the transitional shoes in the 50s temp range. We get some of those days in November, December, March, April- but I could be wearing any sort of shoes then. It can be 30 or 70 in those months here.
