I bought both the black and the deep red Stuart Weitzman Cling sock boot and love them. The red are a statement, the black are one of my essentials. Kkards has them pictured above. Perfect heel and shaft height, comfortable, they don't slip down and are very on point. They look great with both cropped and longer pants and short and longer dresses. If you have the budget I highly recommend them.

I purchased a pair a while ago and have decided this particular pair is a mistake. My pair has a very low heel. I don't like how they look with any of my clothing.

They were around last year? did not notice them last year. I am really liking them with the thin heels.

I came here to ask the same question... curious what everyone thinks of sock booties. I like them but I wonder if they're a fad that will look dated soon, or if they are sleek enough that the look will endure as a classic.
Also I wonder if they flatter everyone equally. I have very thin ankles and very long feet in relation to my height (I'm short and once was told I looked like the letter "L" :( ). Do the sock booties accentuate this?

Also, those of you who have them--do you wear them with pants only or also skirts and dresses?

Thanks, ladies, for the finds, explanations, suggestions, and endorsements. They are all very helpful!

I am kind of embarrassed I didn't notice the "sock" ankle fit last year; my eye is still-in-training, I guess! Anyway, I "get" it now and will be on the lookout! You are all the best!

I bought a pair of cognac and a pair of black sock booties last year (finds 1 & 2), and I loved them. as Marilyn said they work perfectly with crops, but I just found the style so versatile, because they ended up working with everything

they can be found a all different price points. think about how high you want the "sock" to come up --most websites will give you a shaft measurement so that you can compare. find #3 is an interesting casual version of a sock bootie, find #4 is a more dressy, and expensive, one.

I bought a pair of black sock booties with a moderate (about 2") chunky heel last winter. I love the way they look with both cropped denim flares and dressy black cropped flares. They look sleek on the ankle and are the perfect solution for wearing cropped pants when it's cold. Just make sure the shaft is sufficiently high if you want to wear them with crops.

I think they are simply booties constructed with an upper and shaft that are not rigid -- made of a soft or stretchy material like neoprene or fabric like polyester.

They are really nice for providing a sleek line at the ankle and avoiding the flowerpot effect. I just got these Hispanita floral booties which slip on easily and look really nice on the foot. Pretty comfortable too, despite the heel height. I know there are lower heeled styles out there too.

Greetings fabbers,

I just noticed on another forum the explosion of "sock booties" on the market. The last time I remember seeing the term was on Suz's post about indoor booties (or at least that's how I understood them).

Are these new? Are there lower-heeled, reasonably priced versions? I am starting to realize that the reason I like cropped pants in summer more than winter is because of the slim line of the "alluring ankle" that is visible in bare legs, but not so much in normal boots and booties. I am thinking the sock bootie, with its ankle-con fit (ha, ha), would fix this..

Thoughts? Edification? Help? Thanks!
