I just bought a flat iron, hoping it will help. Maybe it will get easier with practice, but right now, I'm just finding it takes too much effort to make it work. I need to look okay, rolling out of bed, running my fingers through my hair, and smoothing on a bit of lipstick. This style wants a blow dryer, a straightening iron, and a good dose of eyeliner. And it might very well want me to be 20 years younger. Sometimes just a few strands can make a huge difference. </p> <p>(I can't deal with bangs on myself. Too much of that temperamental wave, so bangs or shorter bits don't look intentional without effort. Occasionally, a hairstylist cuts something too short. So I keep a small flat iron around.
