You cannot keep an eye on them every second. &nbsp;Teenagers are very impulsive and very often don't see the cause and effect of what they are doing. That's why so many parents have gray hair.</p> <p>You sound like you are handling the parenting part wonderfully - not allowing him to publicize his actions is good thing. Until I had my son I never truly understood what people meant by "your heart walking around outside your body". Now I do. The news just makes me cry - people's sons shot in a nightclub, a toddler dragged away by an alligator at Disney. Everyone is someone's child and the heartbreak seems endless.</p> <p>And teenage boys are like toddlers - they know not what they do. I have one too. I really hope you are not blaming yourself. Every time we hike I worry about bears and what to do if we run into one.
