OK, thanks! It looks like I'll need to order a few things to try on at home before I make an outing to try in-store items.

K is right. When I was a SA there, we had stopped doing store-transfers, because they take too long. They do DTCs now (direct to customer) where you pay first and they send it to you. They can send it to the store too, but you'll have to pay first. But if the items don't work, you can just return them there and then!

They can, but they may need you to pay for it before they bring it in. I had that done for several of my NAS purchases and it seemed like they needed me to buy first before they transferred. That may well have been because they were NAS items--the rules are different for them. No holds, that sort of thing, so no transfers would make sense too.

I have a spinoff question about Nordstrom SAs. If I make an appointment, can they acquire the items on my wish list even if they are not in stock at their store? I'm starting a new job in a couple of weeks and after I get a paycheck, I plan to start trying out the items on my wish list. I can order them, try, and keep or return, but it would be easier if I could try in-store and not buy if it's not right for me.

I've gone there before and the SA will gather whatever items from my list that they have in stock, but this time around, many of my items are not available locally.
