Love the dress and the review of your SF experience was helpful. I still prefer B&M shopping, but I'm finding that it takes too much time at the moment!

Sara L., thanks for the information about improved choices with feedback. I was hoping for that. I didn't realize until after I had completed the checkout online that I could have exchanged the Kut pants for a different size rather than returning and then requesting the larger size. I'll know for next time!

Thanks, Glory.

I didn’t keep anything from my first box, gave detailed feedback, and then kept two items from the second.
It’s a fun way to get exposure to clothing that’s not easy to find locally and I’m sure I will try it again at some point. Looks like you did really well!

Style Fan, YES. It can be frustrating to try to keep a wardrobe current when shopping opportunities are few and far between.

suntiger, exactly right. I do try on at least that many items to make one purchase, either B&M or online. You may be right about the specific wardrobe holes. I'm toying with the idea of requesting a box with all patterned tops in specified colors to try to help my workwear capsule.

Suz, I hope so. I plan to try again and see how it works out.

Glad you found a winner, and 1 out of 4 isnt bad. Youd probably try more things on in a shop than that! That being said, it may not be the best solution if you have specific wardrobe holes to fill (im guessing).

The dress looks great! It goes well with the jacket and shoe too. Fab :)
I also have a small bust, but a thick midsection so usually wrap dresses don’t work...... but sometimes they do and it’s wonderful! I find if the dress is a thick, firm knit that still has a lot of stretch and recoil it can mould to the body well enough.

The dress looks fabulous. I saw this advertised in the US and was very intrigued by the concept. Sounds like the choices they made for you were pretty on the money. I wonder if the box will improve each time as they get to know your preferences and fit better.

Inspired by gardenchick's post about Stitch Fix and the many responses from YLF, I decided to give it a try. Though people who love shopping and have ample opportunities to shop might not find this option as appealing as shopping B&M, my situation is a bit different. I live in The Back of Beyond, where GOOD shopping is literally a 5-hour drive away. I do most of my shopping online, and have a pretty high return rate. Even when I have a chance to shop (either online or B&M) and a reasonable shopping budget, I seem not to find items I really LIKE often. So I keep clothes forever, even when they no longer "spark joy" and/or are beginning to look shabby. So I thought, what do I have to lose?

I was pleasantly surprised by my first box. Though I only ended up keeping one item (details to follow), I felt like these were all items (with the exception of the necklace) that *could* have worked for me if the fit had been right. They were items in line with my personal color palette, taste, and style.

Here's the breakdown:
Skies are Blue Raja Knit Collarless Blazer (gray): Fit was great, color was perfect, quality was high. The reason I didn't keep? It's very similar to a jacket I already own that I picked out myself IRL! :-)

Calvin Klein Kamala V-Neck Knit Top (black/blue/white print): Would have been a seamless fit with my work capsule that includes black trousers. The neckline was high enough and didn't gape open. Even though CK does seem to run small, in my experience, the size they sent was way too wide in the torso. Maybe meant for bustier women? So it went back.

Kut from the Kloth Stephany Printed Slim Straight Leg Pant: Loved the color/pattern and cut, and the fabric was exactly what I like: substantial, yet with stretch. Unfortunately, the size they sent was way too small. Does Kut run small? I've never tried the brand before. So in the detailed feedback I gave about each item, I requested the same item to be sent in the next box in the next larger size.

And finally, the winner. Kassidy Faux Wrap Dress: Though I am leery of wrap dresses (being a Woman of Small Bust) because the necklines tend to be too wide and gape open, this one was just right. DD15, who eagerly participated in the try ons (I think she may be wanting a Stitch Fix box of her own), anxiously asked, "You're keeping that one, aren't you?" I loved the pattern, and the length was just right. I wore it today and felt fab.

So, I think I'll be doing Stitch Fix again. I won't have a scheduled box, but will order one when I know I'll have time to spend trying on and evaluating items, or maybe even when I'm looking for something specific, as there are instructions you can give to the stylist if you're prepping for a specific event or looking for something in particular.
